2012 NFL Free Agents: Bold Predictions on Potential Division-Altering Signings

Andrew KulhaJun 5, 2018

The three teams that end up getting Peyton Manning, Mario Williams and Matt Fynn will all win their divisions in the 2012-13 NFL season

These three were arguably the biggest names on the free-agent market, and now that some major signings have happened they are definitely the biggest three names left.

Their signings will drastically change the respective NFL divisions that they end up in, but the question now becomes—where will they end up?

Here are some bold predictions:

Peyton Manning: Denver Broncos

In the end, Manning is going to choose a team that he feels can win the Super Bowl the fastest, and that will lead him to Denver.

They will have no problem ushering Tim Tebow aside to make room for the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, and then it just becomes a process of adding a few more pieces via the draft.

The Broncos have a young and dynamic defense that will only get better, a great running game that will only get better and a head coach who is obviously willing to adapt his offensive schemes.

Add Manning, who is apparently feeling pretty healthy, and this is a team that can win the Super Bowl, let alone a weak AFC West.

Mario Williams: Buffalo Bills

Despite reports that state Williams will be visiting with other teams, he will eventually end up in Buffalo.

This seems like a huge shock going from a potential Super Bowl contender in the Texans to the Bills, but believe you me, they aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

They have a good running game with Fred Jackson, they re-signed Steve Johnson and are still looking for another receiver to add to the mix. The offense will be just fine.

Last year, the defense was already talented and opportunistic. Imagine adding Williams and putting him next to Marcel Dareus. Tom Brady and Mark Sanchez would have nightmares, and this team would be the best in the AFC East.

Matt Flynn: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks desperately need quarterback, and that leads me to believe they are going to go hard after Flynn.

Marshawn Lynch spearheads a good running attack that will be attractive, and the defense is becoming one of the most athletic and dangerous in the league.

Some are doubting Flynn's abilities as a starter, but don't buy into that. He's got a good arm, and he's incredibly accurate as a thrower. He makes good decisions and has a great feel for the game.

With Flynn leading this team, they will win the NFC West.
