Peyton Manning Rumors: Broncos, Cardinals, Titans and Dolphins Still in It
The rumors on free agent quarterback Peyton Manning have calmed down a bit today, but there have been a few bits of news trickling out about the four-time MVP.
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson claims the team "passed" on Manning in favor of extending Mark Sanchez. While that's a positive way of looking at things, the reality actually is that Manning didn't even consider the Jets.
CBS Sports' Mike Freeman claimed earlier today that the Miami Dolphins are very much in the mix for the 11-time Pro Bowl quarterback. The fact that Miami dumped wide receiver Brandon Marshall can't hurt the team's chances.

That said, ESPN's Adam Schefter claims he doesn't see the Dolphins as a viable contender for Manning's services.
The big news on Wednesday is that Manning and the Tennessee Titans were scheduled to meet, as the team's brass was set to spend the day with him. Owner Bud Adams, who is apparently intent on signing the former University of Tennessee star, seems to believe Manning is just as interested in the Titans as they are in him.
On Tuesday evening the Denver Post also chimed in on the Manning chase, claiming that the Denver Broncos are one of Manning's top two choices. While the Arizona Cardinals shouldn't be counted out of the race yet, the Broncos have so much cap room they can basically do whatever they want in free agency. That will likely prove a big draw for the quarterback.
Right now it is probably safe to say the Cardinals and Broncos are in the lead for Manning, while the Dolphins and Titans are bringing up the rear.
