NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills Cannot Let Mario Williams Get Away

Defensive end Mario Williams visited the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, according to ESPN. Now, the team has to make sure he does not get away.

Williams is by far the best defensive free agent available. Despite missing most of last season with a torn pectoral muscle, he is a dominant force that can immediately improve any team in the league.

This should make a team like the Bills especially desperate after giving up the third-most points in the league in 2011. They also tied for that same mark in fewest sacks.

The former Houston Texans player plans to visit other teams, but those who spent time with him during his trip in Buffalo believe that it went well. Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams told the free agent that they could form the "best D-line in the league."

Mario Williams could make this statement true, because putting him on almost any defensive line makes them one of the best in the league. 

Another good sign for Buffalo is that Williams brought his fiancée with him to check out the area before rushing into a decision.

The Bills had two key targets going into free agency, and the team already lost a chance to sign wide receiver Robert Meachem. Buffalo cannot afford to come this close to signing the best defender on the market and miss out.

General manager Buddy Nix has said that his team is going to be aggressive in free agency. He can show it by making Williams one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL.
