10 Remaining English Premier League Games That Will Define the Season

Manchester United are now at the top of the Premier League table, a lone point ahead of archrivals and noisy neighbors Manchester City. Similarly, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are separated by the same margin. 

Chelsea are not far behind either. 

The next Gameweeks represent tricky fixtures for a host of these top clubs. Here are the top 10 games that could shape the top of the Premier League table and determine in whose favor the season may very well swing.  

10. Manchester City vs. Chelsea: 21 March

Manchester City are in a slump now. Having recently lost to Swansea City in the Premier League and to Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League, it looks downhill from here for City. 

Chelsea did register a win against City this season and might be poised to take advantage of City's poor run. 

If City lose this game, Manchester United will be eager to widen the gap. 

This game may decide the season for these two teams. City will be desperate for a win, as United have only one huge game—with City—before the season ends. 

Likewise, for Chelsea this game is a must-win if they want to keep hopes alive for a Champions League position. 

9. Tottenham vs. Stoke City: 21 March

With Chelsea and Arsenal both breathing down their neck, a victory might be essential to keep Champions League hopes alive for Harry Redknapp's men.  

However, Stoke City represent a resilient side who are hard to crack down and they will be fully aware of Tottenham's current poor run of form.

8. Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea: 24 March

Chelsea face another grave fixture—this time with Tottenham Hotspur. 

Spurs would be looking to regain their form and widen the gap between themselves and Arsenal yet again. Chelsea would be looking to close it down.

The battle for the remaining places in the Champions League will be at full throttle.  

7. Tottenham Hotspur vs. Swansea: 1 April

Another Tottenham fixture. They don't have it easy, do they? This time it's against Swansea City. 

Swansea City have been in red-hot form this season. 

They have been very impressive in their debut campaign and have already won against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. 

Tottenham will face an uphill task to overcome Brendan Rodgers' men. 

6. Arsenal vs. Manchester City: 8 April

Manchester City have had a tremendous season. However, the last 10 fixtures are really tricky for the Citizens. 

They will have to overcome a resurgent Arsenal side to keep their title hopes alive. 

Similarly, Arsenal must emerge victorious in order to keep Champions League hopes alive. 

5. Chelsea vs. Newcastle: 14 April

Playing against Newcastle is a tricky business. 

They have a phenomenal squad capable of churning out any result. Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa are men in form and could give Chelsea's defense nightmares. 

Chelsea have to be wary of their threat and ensure their tactics work correctly. This might be the game that determines Chelsea do not qualify for the Champions League next season. 

4. Arsenal vs. Chelsea: 21 April

It's not easy being a Chelsea fan this season. Not only have they witnessed their club fall into disarray, but their last games are against the fiercest of competitors. 

Manchester City, Tottenham and then Arsenal. 

Arsenal will want to emerge victorious from this match just as badly as Chelsea.

3. Manchester United vs. Everton: 22 April

Playing against Everton is a grueling affair. 

David Moyes' side epitomizes mid-table resilience and might cause an upset. This is a key fixture for United, as United do not have to face any of the "Big Six" barring Manchester City in their last 10 games. 

Given City's fixtures, United might have widened the gap and this game might give them the title. 

2. Manchester City vs. Manchester United: 30 April

This game is perhaps the hottest game in the remaining fixtures. This game may see the Red Devils retain their title or their bitter rivals pry it away.

It marks the penultimate game for both clubs and whoever emerges victorious would get the honour of being England's most elite club. 

1. Liverpool vs. Chelsea: 6 May

Did we mention that Chelsea face a series of near-impossible fixtures in the last 10 games? 

Well, their final game is against Liverpool who, as records have shown, are almost impossible to beat at Anfield.

Liverpool have already humbled Chelsea twice this season. Another defeat to them might mar any hopes of Chelsea going through to the Champions League. 

Conclusion and Opinion

I am of the opinion that Manchester United will win the title this year. Manchester City face both Chelsea and Arsenal before facing United, and these games might prove too tough for City to handle. 

The battle for the remaining Champions League places will be contested between Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea. Given the difficult fixtures that Chelsea have, I expect Arsenal and Spurs to qualify. 

Nevertheless, Chelsea might very well enjoy a good run of form. 

I am going to go with Arsenal for the third place, as they are on a fantastic run and Tottenham are in a bit of a slump.
