Peyton Manning Rumors: Breaking Down Latest Buzz on Free Agent QB
Welcome back to the Peyton Manning show, where all NFL fans' hopes and dreams go to live or die. Since his release from the Colts, Manning has been linked to the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans and Hueytown Golden Gophers.
OK, maybe not that last one as my high school football team couldn’t afford Manning, but you get where I’m going with this.
Manning seems to be on every team’s list even if he has no desire to play for that team. The Cowboys announced that they have no intention of pursuing Manning, and the feeling was probably mutual. But that is the type of interest Manning is receiving from teams across the league.

He’s just that good.
So what is the latest buzz surrounding the former Colt? Where is headed today and where may he be headed tomorrow?
According to a report in the Denver Post, Manning has narrowed his list down to just four teams. The leader in the clubhouse still seems to be the Denver Broncos, which is a mystery to me. The Broncos seem a few years away from Super Bowl contention and depended heavily upon their defense in 2011.
I understand that there were limitations at quarterback, but Manning can’t fix everything.
The second team on his list appears to be the Arizona Cardinals. They are still vying for his services, but he has his eyes set for Denver, according to the report.
The Titans and Dolphins are still in the race, but after the Dolphins dealt Brandon Marshall to the Bears yesterday, they seemed to throw their chances out of the window.
So as it stands, the Broncos are in the lead with the Cardinals and Titans coming in second and third. I would still like to see Manning in the desert instead of as a Bronco, but it's not where Jason Henry wants him to go, is it?
Manning will probably make a decision in the coming days, and once he does, expect for there to be a chain reaction around the league. If he signs with the Cardinals, they release Kevin Kolb, and he may sign with the Dolphins.
Same with Tim Tebow in Denver and maybe Matt Hasselbeck in Tennessee. In any case, it should be an entertaining week.
