Manchester City FC Transfer Latest: Diego Ribas Da Cunha

The latest reports on the continent suggest that City's attentions have switched from Kaka to Diego Ribas Da Cunha, the 23 year old Attacking Midfield Brazilian currently plying his trade at Bundesliga Outfit, SV Werder Bremen.

Here are some facts about Diego.

He started his career by signing for Santos FC at aged 12 going on to score 21 goals in 64 appearances.

Diego won Bronze at the Beijing 2008 Olympics with Brazil.

He and Robinho came through the same youth system at the same time, and often played together for Santos. They were famous for their productive partnership. These two also played alongside Elano.

Diego was another Brazilian proclaimed as "the next Pele".

His goalscoring record for Werder reads 34 goals in 74 games.

He was the Bundesliga player of the season for the 2006/2007 season, receiving over 50% of the votes, even though his team finished third in the Bundesliga.
