NFL Free Agent Signings 2012: Redskins Make Right Move in Adding Pierre Garcon
The Washington Redskins dipped their toes in the free-agent waters on Tuesday and made one hell of a splash with wide receiver Pierre Garcon.
The former Colts player wanted to make sure Colts fans that have been hit hard in the past couple of weeks would get the news from him before the major outlets caught wind.
Here is what the speedster wrote on his Facebook page before the move was officially announced.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news... I will be signing with the Washington Redskins and I'm very excited about the opportunity in front of me.
"
I want to thank all Colts fans from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you've shown me the past 4 years...
The news came after the Colts and Garcon were unable to come to an agreement before the start of free agency, as reported by ESPN's John Clayton.
Now he will suit up for the Washington Redskins, and for quite the payday. Foxsports' Alex Marvez reports the details of the contract in this tweet.
"Source told @FOXSports.com that #Colts WR Pierre Garcon signed 5-yr, $42.5M contract with #Redskins. Roughly $21.5M guaranteed.

That is no doubt a hefty sum, but the Redskins needed to add an outside threat that could get downfield. Garcon is certainly that with big-play potential and great athleticism that makes him an exciting player to watch alongside the incoming talent.
The obvious notion is that Garcon will have to get acquainted with the presumed second overall pick in the NFL draft, and that is Robert Griffin III.
RG3 comes in with as much promise as power that he has in his strong arm. The Redskins now have a tandem that can get up the field for devastating plays.
Garcon had 70 receptions for 947 yards and six touchdowns despite having turmoil demand that he never had a consistent quarterback for him under center.
He should now have one quarterback going forward, allowing for a great deal more chemistry. And at 25 years old, Garcon still has some great ball ahead of him.
Washington's offense just got a great deal more deadly.
