You can forget about the Chicago Bears desperately seeking another receiver this offseason.

They reportedly just traded for Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall.

"

Major scoopage! The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms of a trade w Miami for pro bowl WR Brandon Marshall in exchange for 2 third-rounders.

— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) March 13, 2012"

The Bears have two speedy receivers in Johnny Knox and Devin Hester, but Roy Williams didn't work as their underneath receiver last season.

Marshall can do everything, and he's proven he can produce even when he's saddled with questionable quarterbacks. Despite all his off-the-field issues throughout the years, his on-field play has never suffered. He's gone five straight seasons with at least 80 catches and 1,000 receiving yards. Last season, he caught 81 balls for 1,214 yards and six touchdowns in Miami.

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler still needs some protection on the line, but he has to be thrilled with this move. It pairs him up with his former teammate in Denver and gives him a legit No. 1 receiver to throw the ball to. Cutler and Marshall connected regularly when they played together on the Broncos.

Cutler and the Bears will once again be under the gun this season as they try to capture a championship. After getting ousted by the eventual champion Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game two seasons ago, they disappointed last season, failing to make the playoffs with an 8-8 record as Cutler sat out the second half of the season with an injury.

This is a good sign for Bears fans. Management did well to address a major team need and did so rather cheaply.

Hope is on the horizon in Chicago.
