CBS NCAA Bracket 2012: Where Experts Went Terribly Wrong

Jesse ReedJun 7, 2018

Before you put the finishing touches on your CBS NCAA bracket make sure you avoid listening to the advice of these upcoming experts.

March Madness got the name because of the unpredictable and sometimes illogical way the games turn out. Sometimes the "best" teams don't win.

CBSsports.com's Jeff Goodman says that Syracuse looks to have an easy road to the regional final.

I couldn't disagree more. Especially in light of the news that Fab Melo won't be playing due to an eligibility issue with the school.

Kansas State won't be a pushover, and they have a good shot at winning against Syracuse in the second round, provided both teams win their opening round matchups.

Relying on tough defense and disciplined offense, Kansas State is led by Rodney MacGruder, a 6'4" junior who averages 15.4 points per game.

6'11 250 junior center Jordan Henriquez is may have a future in the NBA, and he leads the defense, which thrives in man-to-man.

Kansas State has a shot to win in the second round, and I will be choosing them to win over Syracuse in the second round by shutting down Dion Walters and the Syracuse offense.

SI.com's Andy Staples has Connecticut over Kentucky as his bracketbuster.

Don't believe him.

Yes, I know they weren't supposed to win last year, either, but this year's Huskies squad in no way resembles the team that ran the tables in 2011.

Shabazz Napier is not Kemba Walker, and he will struggle against Kentucky when the pressure is on.

Anthony Davis and company will be too much for Jeremy Lamb in the paint, and Kentucky should win handily on their way to a national title.

Dick Vitale has Vanderbuilt beating Syracuse in the Sweet 16 in his personal bracket.

Sorry, Dick. Not going to happen.

Syracuse won't even be around by the time Vanderbuilt gets to the Sweet 16.

Bottom line: Don't buy into the hype.

Syracuse isn't going to go far in the tournament, but Kentucky will win it all.
