Peyton Manning Rumors: The Latest Rumblings in the Chase for Quarterback
As I've said before, things in the Peyton Manning free agency derby seem to change by the hour. And today, things have been shifting constantly.
On ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning on Tuesday, Adam Schefter said he doesn't believe the Miami Dolphins are a viable contender for Manning anymore. That news is absolutely shocking since just a few weeks ago the Dolphins were thought to be the front-runner for the four-time MVP's services.
Schefter claimed that he thought Manning's Monday meeting with the team was just a "courtesy visit" and that he really isn't considering the Fins as an option.

Schefter then went on SportsCenter on Tuesday and claimed that Titans owner Bud Adams was willing to give Manning a blank check to come to Tennessee. The problem with that situation is that most of Tennessee's football people don't want Manning since they have already entrusted the franchise's future to young quarterback Jake Locker. Adding Manning to the mix would likely stunt Locker's growth.
Still, Adams appears set on pursuing Manning as hard as he can.
Another team that had popped up as a potential landing spot for the 11-time Pro Bowl signal-caller has been Houston. But today the Texans have been shot down as a possible fit. The Houston Chronicle has claimed that the team has no interest in Manning and cites multiple team sources confirming that.
While the Texans would be an incredibly attractive option, it would appear that they aren't getting involved in the Manning chase. That makes sense given how well the team played last season—adding a big piece like Manning could actually upset the locker room.
