Oakland Raiders Draft Needs: Wide Receiver or Offensive Line?

jeremy barilCorrespondent IJanuary 13, 2009

Provided Cable returns in any capacity, we're not going to draft an O-lineman with our first pick. Wide receiver is obviously a need pick, and Michael Crabtree could become Russell's main target, thus allowing the tight end, Miller, more opportunities.

Drafting Crabtree would instantly provide the Raiders with a top-notch receiver that would mesh very well with the speedy Higgins and Chaz Schilens, a huge, reliable target (Lofton's pet project from the San Diego area).

Russell, Miller, McFadden, and Crabtree could provide fits for opposing defenses.

I do believe help is needed along the offensive line, but Henderson looked pretty good at left tackle. If Cable returns, there's no reason to believe he won't bring back Henderson as a starter. I do believe we'll draft an offensive lineman, though, especially at guard or center.

I do believe Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin are the only two WRs that would go in the Top 10. If so, drafting either of these players would instantly upgrade the offense to where they could become legendary.
