NCAA Bracket 2012: 5 Mistakes to Avoid When Filling out Your Bracket

The best playoff in sports is the NCAA men's college basketball tournament. It's an exciting three weeks of basketball because with one loss, a team's season is done.

As exciting as the tournament is, it can be a pain in the neck when your picks do not go the way you expected them to.

Sure, picking a No. 4 seed to go to the Final Four seemed like a great idea, but there's a great chance you are going to see them get upset by a good No. 12 seed.

And sure, you saw Butler and Virginia Commonwealth play each other in the Final Four last year despite being high-seeded mid-majors, and you think it will happen again. Well, listen to me: That doesn't happen every year, so don't pick a mid-major this year to reach the Final Four.

That is why you need someone giving you some pieces of advice while you still have some time to make adjustments to your bracket. These five tips will not help you win your tournament pool, but they surely will help you avoid eliminating any chances you have at winning after the first weekend.
