Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: Star QB Would Revitalize Jacksonville Jaguars

Peyton Manning could hold Tim Tebow's future in his right arm.

The Denver Broncos are reportedly high on Manning's list of teams, which opens a world of possibilities for Tebow.

In a January interview, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said that there is no question he would have drafted Tebow if he had a re-do.

100% I would have. When is the next time Jacksonville is going to have an athlete like Tim Tebow. He has the fire in the belly, the technical competency to win.

"

In addition to that, Mike Klis of the Denver Post quoted a source close to Tebow over the weekend, saying that he won't speak until "after the smoke clears."

The Manning situation is going to change so many things in the NFL, but the Jaguars should be smiling wide if he ends up going to Denver. 

In a recent edition of his mailbag on ESPN, Adam Schefter was asked whether the Jaguars would pursue Tebow:

New Jacksonville owner Shahid Khan has said he would have drafted Tebow, who is from Jacksonville. Tebow would surely sell tickets and he would be a shot in the arm for the struggling franchise. But the Jaguars just drafted Blaine Gabbert with the No. 10 pick last season. If would be very surprising to see the Jaguars give up the No. 7 pick for Tebow. If they were interested, I’m sure it is something the Broncos would be willing to do, especially if they land Manning.

"

That is the crux of this whole situation: Tickets and relevance.

The Jaguars haven't been selling much of anything since 1999, back when Mark Brunell was a productive starting quarterback. 

Fans have been disillusioned with the franchise for years. They have finished in the bottom third of the NFL in home attendance since the start of the 2009 season. 

As great as Maurice Jones-Drew is, no one in Florida is going out of their way to see him play because the team surrounding him is so bland. 

Even if Tebow were to struggle, at least he would make them interesting. Khan has to run a business, and Tebow is great for business.
