California vs. South Florida: Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread Info and Prediction

The bubble hasn’t burst for California and South Florida, but getting stuck in the First Four has to be bittersweet.

The two 12 seeds will be squaring off for the right to play No. 5 Temple in Nashville in the Midwest region. These were likely the final two teams to make the cut and now they still have more work to do.

This marks the first appearance by South Florida in the big dance since 1992 while Cal will be making their first appearance since 2010.

Prediction

The Bulls love to slow the pace down, and that typically bodes well in a single-elimination tournament where nerves are running high. They are playing their best basketball of the season right now and have the potential to do some damage in the tournament if they get past California.

The Bears are coming out of a weak Pac-12 where they had a disappointing finish to the season. They lost three of their final four games to end the season and sport very little depth. Allen Crabbe is a strong player, but he doesn’t have much help around him. Jorge Gutierrez and Justin Cobbs are role player’s on a contender, but for the Bears, they are asked to be stars.

California is a dead man walking and is going to be one of the four teams that get nothing more than a taste of the madness that is about to ensue.
