2012 NFL Free Agents: 4 Top Players No One Is Talking About

Tony SantorsaJun 7, 2018

The 2012 NFL free agency may not officially start until Tuesday, but there still has been a ton of buzz circulating around the NFL world. Players like Peyton Manning, Vincent Jackson and Mario Williams are all hot names as of right now—but there are some players that aren't being recognized.

With that being said, let's take a look at four top players that no one is talking about right now.

Matt Flynn

Now that the dust is beginning to settle after the Washington Redskins acquired the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft from the St. Louis Rams, I'm sure that we're going to hear a lot more about Matt Flynn.

A year ago, we saw Kevin Kolb receive a ton of hype but Flynn simply isn't being talked about.

To me, Flynn is a much better prospect than Kolb and has all the potential in the world to be a top tier quarterback in the NFL.

Carl Nicks

2 of 4

Carl Nicks is one of the premiere offensive guards in the NFL today, but why isn't anyone talking about him? I mean, he's a free agent and some team may be able to steal him away from the New Orleans Saints.

Nick is going to be looking for elite money, and the Saints may struggle to pay him which could mean he'll be playing for a new team in 2012.

Carlos Rogers

3 of 4

Why isn't Carlos Rogers being talked about? Well for starters, maybe because he is expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers? I think so.

Rogers, however, is one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL today and one team that is desperate for a No. 1 cornerback could swoop in and offer Rogers a pretty hefty contract.

Marques Colston

While playing in just 14 games in 2012 with the New Orleans Saints, Marques Colston caught 80 passes for a whopping 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns.

Why isn't anyone talking about this guy?

Colston will likely not be returning with the New Orleans Saints as that franchise has some pretty serious salary cap issues and Colston may be the odd man out.
