Peyton Manning Rumors: Why the Arizona Cardinals Are a Great Fit for the QB

As soon as Peyton Manning was released and this craziness started I was confident that Arizona was the best place for the superstar quarterback. 

It turns out the older Manning brother agreed. 

"The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, the first two teams Manning visited, are considered his two likeliest landing spots, according to sources familiar with the situation,” wrote Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Arizona provides the free agent superstar the best place to win, and win now. 

One just needs to look back to Kurt Warner to understand what the desert has to offer. Warner was also a veteran quarterback whose best days had come with the Saint Louis Rams in the early 00’s. The Cards picked him up in 2005 and the quarterback led them to the Super Bowl in 2008. 

This upcoming season the Cardinals will return running back Beanie Wells, who is coming off a career year in which he ran for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns. 

The defense is young and explosive, but the biggest seller will be the receiving corps.

Early Doucet racked up 689 yards and five touchdowns last season, and will be a viable target for Manning. Tight End Todd Heap proved he still had it even with Kevin Kolb throwing to him. Andre Roberts is an emerging target who notched 51 catches for 586 yards in 2011. 

And then there’s some guy named Larry Fitzgerald. I won’t bore you with the stats (80 receptions for 1,411, and eight touchdowns in 2011) but Fitzgerald is one of the best receivers in the league. 

Both Manning and the All-Star wideout are more laid back in personality, and don’t have giant egos. They will complement each other off the field. 

But on the field they might be even more historic. 

Fitzgerald and Manning would create one of the most electric QB-WR combinations in NFL history if they were paired together.

I know that Denver won’t be able to tell Manning that, with their group of sub-par pass catchers. 

In addition to all of this, Arizona also has the 13th pick in the upcoming NFL draft, so they will be able to surround Manning with young talent. 

I have been saying this from the start and I will stand by my opinion.

The Arizona Cardinals are the best fit for the ex-Colt.
