New York Knicks J.R. Smith Fined $25,000 for Tweeting Half Nude Photo of Woman

J.R. Smith didn't take long to cause controversy after arriving in New York to play with the Knicks, as he was just fined $25,000 by the NBA for posting a photo of a woman in a thong on his Twitter page according to Iamagm.com.

The photo is of his girlfriend and rap video vixen Tahiry and has caught the eye of more than the NBA brass who fined him.

Rapper Joe Budden went into a Twitter beef with Smith after the photo was taken, as Tahiry is the rappers ex-girlfriend.

After the photo was posted Budden Tweeted:

Smith, not one to back down responded with:

The two went back and forth for a few more tweets, and Tahiry chimed in on her Twitter, expressing her frustration for the photo of her backside for being Tweeted for the world to see. But she also found humor in the situation.

This is just another example of how Twitter can get athletes in trouble with the league. They must second guess anything that may be questionable before posting online for the world to see.

Tweeting a funny picture to his fans via Twitter may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but that laugh made Smith's pockets $25,000 lighter. It may have also stirred up some beef that could cause him some more trouble and money down the line.
