Cadillac Championship Leaderboard: Doral Will Host Three-Horse Race on Sunday

Scott SemmlerJun 7, 2018

Forget the moving day surges by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, Sunday will feature a tournament that will come down to the wire and involve only three contending players who have pulled away from the field on Day 3 at Doral.

We thought we would see, at least we wanted to see Woods and McIlroy moving up the leaderboard in a fury Saturday morning, only to find that Bubba Watson, Justin Rose and Keegan Bradley were going just as low, if not lower.

Watson, Rose and Bradley all played rounds well-under par on Saturday at TPC Blue Monster in Florida.

All three have played consistently all week, with Watson firing a 62 on Friday to take the lead. He followed that up today with another good round that should put him in the lead heading into the final round.

Even better, the leader will be a good 9-10 strokes better than Woods and the new world's No. 1 golfer McIlroy, who fired a seven-under round on Saturday, vaulting himself into at least mid-contention at Doral.

TPC Blue Monster seems to fit the eye of Watson, Rose and Bradley, as would seem apparent from their low rounds.

Watson and Rose have played together since Thursday, with both of them going incredibly low on Friday. Watson shot that 62 and Rose answered in the same group with a 64 after his 69 the previous day.

Bradley made his move on Saturday with one of the lowest rounds of the day, vaulting him into contention on Sunday. He is long off the tee, but smart around the greens, which makes for a very confident players out there at Doral.

Watson's length off the tee has seemed to set him up nicely for short birdie attempts, although he has rolled in his fair share this week.

But Rose is the consistent golfer, with fairways rarely missed and a nice game from the fairway all this week. He is sure to remain in high contention throughout Sunday.

With each of their games showing no signs of slowing down, be prepared for a competitive three-horse during the final round at TPC Blue Monster at Doral.
