TNA Impact Wrestling: Is Vince Russo Done with Wrestling After Quitting TNA?

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 2, 2018

It was recently announced that Vince Russo and TNA had parted ways via Twitter. While this may not come as a surprise to many, it certainly opens up a few interesting questions.

The main question is if Vince Russo is done with the wrestling business or if he will try and find work elsewhere?

The odds of the guys over at WWE taking Russo back are pretty slim given his reputation since leaving the company, but he has changed since then.

He is no longer the egomaniacal booker who wanted to be in front of the camera. He is now a hard worker who put a lot of effort into the TNA product over the past several years.

Whether or not Russo's leadership led to the downfall of WCW is not really an issue anymore since it has been acknowledged that there were simply too many cooks in the kitchen.

There are plenty of places left for Russo to take his talents, and he is a talented guy.

Back when he was writing and booking for WWE, they had some of their best angles and ratings.

When he left to go to WCW, a lot of people thought he would bring the same kind of success with him. That was not the case.

As it was said in the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD, Vince Russo had the filter of Vince McMahon to run his ideas through and tell him if they were good or bad.

Without that filter, he was basically doing whatever he wanted in WCW, and that is where some of the problems began.

Looking at TNA's product over the years Russo had been involved, you can see he has changed.

He is no longer booking one or two guys as the top talents, and he isn't involved in front of the camera at all anymore.

If there were still a desire in Russo to work in the business, then Ring of Honor, New Japan or even AAA could all benefit from his years of experience.

Russo has yet to make any future plans public, but you can rest assured that if he does dip his toe back in the wrestling pool, we will hear about it.

Do you think Vince Russo is done with the wrestling biz?
