Peyton Manning Rumors: Denver Broncos Must Make Hard Push to Acquire Star QB
Tebowmania was fun. But Peyton Manning would be way better.
And don't think it isn't a possibility that Manning would land on the Broncos. From Mike Klis of the Denver Post:
"The Broncos are longshots to sign Manning, a sure Hall of Fame quarterback who is expected to have at least six other teams pursue him despite his significant health risk. But the Broncos are expected to gauge Manning's interest by talking to his agent, Tom Condon, according to an NFL source close to the situation. If Manning's contract can be structured so the team would be protected in case Manning's troublesome neck becomes an issue, the Broncos could well be players.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let's keep it real here: John Elway doesn't want Tim Tebow to be the quarterback of his team going forward.
Yes, he revitalized the team and was a huge part in saving Denver's season this year.
No, he isn't a prototypical quarterback. He's still pretty miserable as a pocket passer, and it seems unlikely that the read option will remain a viable offensive strategy going forward. NFL teams tend to adjust to gimmicks.
And the Broncos would have options as to how to handle Tebow. They could keep him, use him in a Wildcat fashion and let him learn mechanics and study how to quickly read a defense under the tutelage of Manning.
Or they could trade him. You can't tell me a team like the Jacksonville Jaguars wouldn't have a huge amount of interest in Tebow.
The Broncos aren't that far off from being a very good team. They could use an upgrade at some of the skill positions on offense, but the defense is solid and Manning is good for a few wins no matter where he goes.
There is no reason why the Broncos shouldn't make a push for Manning. He's one of the few quarterbacks who could replace Tebow without the city of Denver marching in the streets with pitchforks and lanterns. And he would make the Broncos better and buy Tebow more time to develop or make him expendable in a trade.
It's win-win, Denver—go get him.
