What Peyton Manning Looks Like in His Suitors' NFL Uniforms

The Peyton Manning sweepstakes has begun, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 12 teams have contacted the Peyton Manning camp.

Millions of NFL fans stuck with leaderless teams want No. 18 on their side, and newspapers and websites across the country are doing their best to deliver. From D.C. to Denver, they’re offering readers a glimpse of what the former king of Indianapolis would look like wearing different team’s uniform.

In short, they’re playing with your head.

Will he wind up a ’Fin or a ’Skin? In the Desert or the Meadowlands? Who knows for sure. But through the magic of technology you don’t have to wait and see what it’ll look like.

1. Miami Dolphins: Turquoise and Orange

Miami is touted as the most likely choice for Manning to end up, especially by gamblers. He has a house in Florida and the Dolphins have a talented wide receiver duo with Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess.

There’s also an entire movement—complete with website and billboard—dedicated to luring the NFL’s golden boy to the Sunshine State. Fans are literally petitioning to bring Manning to Miami. 

2. Washington Redskins: Burgundy and Gold

Washington is probably the last place Manning wants to go, but commuters on D.C.’s metro system woke up to this well-doctored photo anyway.

Kudos to the Washington Post Express for a great image, but Peyton doesn’t make much sense on a team so weak in the receiver realm.

Also, have people already forgotten about the Donovan McNabb experiment?

3. New York Jets: Hunter Green and White

The New York Daily News is always good at announcing its opinion loud and clear. This page from the Big Apple imagines a Peyton Manning/Mark Sanchez tandem. 

4. Kansas City Chiefs: Red and Gold

With the Kansas City Chiefs placing the franchise tag on wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, Manning could see KC as an option. Plus the barbecue ain’t bad.

“That’s as close as Peyton will come to being a Chief. The PhotoShop world. Not the real world,” one fan commented.

5. Arizona Cardinals: Cardinal and White

Will Larry Fitzgerald be enough to lure Manning to the dessert? Cardinal fans remember Kurt Warner’s revival in Arizona, so they’re no stranger to old quarterbacks marching in and owning it.

The idea is believable, and so is the digital handiwork performed by Arizona Sports’ Charlie Feinerman.

6. Denver Broncos: Navy and Orange

Just in case Tim Tebow doesn’t work out, the Denver Broncos are considering taking a more proven QB.

One problem: No. 18 is retired at Sports Authority Field. It belonged to quarterback Frank Tripucka.

Broncotalk.net imagines Manning as a Bronco—and apparently with the clout to un-retire Tripucka’s jersey number.

7. Tennessee Titans: Powder Blue and White

Manning has a history in the Volunteer State, playing his college days at the University of Tennessee. Titans officials insist they’re happy with Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker, but that didn’t stop this rendering on Football’s Future.
