David DanielsMay 31, 2018

No opening act is more entertaining than the Big East tournament.

Before the Big Dance begins, be sure to check out the NBA prospects thatโ€™ll hear their name called by David Stern this summer.ย

Here are the most promising of the bunch that the conference has to offer.

5. Kevin Jones (PF, WVU)

The 6โ€™8โ€, 260-pound Mountaineer makes up for his lack of height with a 7โ€™4โ€ wingspan.ย

Because Jones is a senior, his game is more polished than the remaining players on this list.ย  The late-first-round prospect averaged an impressive 20.0 points and 11.2 rebounds this year.

4. Dion Waiters (SG, Syracuse)

Waiters is a highlight reel waiting to happen.ย  Syracuseโ€™s sophomore wing can jump out of the gym and penetrate at willโ€”a combination that doesnโ€™t bode well for opposing defenders under the rim.ย

He is a mid-to-late first-round prospect after averaging 11.9 points per game this season.

3. Fab Melo (C, Syracuse)

Syracuseโ€™s second-favorite Melo only averages 7.7 points and 5.8 boards a game, but heโ€™s a first-round prospect.ย

Why?ย  Because heโ€™s 7โ€™0โ€, 255 pounds and one of the few remaining of a dying breed that is the center position. ย The 21-year-old Brazilian is a difference-maker on the defensive end, as he averages 3.1 blocks per contest.

2. Jeremy Lamb (SG, UConn)

Lamb is arguably the best shooting guard of a top-heavy class of twos. ย The 6โ€™5โ€ Husky can shoot the lights out and shut down an opposing scorer.ย  His 7โ€™0โ€ wingspan and sky-high vertical also make him a terror at the rim.

The super sophomore is a projected top-five pick after averaging 17.8 points and 4.8 boards this season.

1. Andre Drummond (C, UConn)

Drummond is the favorite to be selected second overall this summer, only behind Kentuckyโ€™s Anthony Davis.ย

The 6โ€™10โ€, 270-pound one-and-done big man averaged 10.2 points, 7.7 boards and 2.7 denials this year for the Huskies.ย  Drummond is intelligent, skilled and as physically gifted as they come.

The center is being compared to Dwight Howard and Amarโ€™e Stoudamireโ€”heโ€™s a big deal.
