Dwight Howard Rumors: Magic Star Reportedly Wants To Stay in Orlando
The Dwight Howard roller-coaster ride continues.
The Orlando Magic All-Star center has been the target of trade rumors for seemingly the past 10 years. At one point, he wanted out. Then, he would be happy in Orlando if the front office got him some help. Then, he wanted to go to New Jersey with Deron Williams. Then, he wanted to play next to Lauren Jackson for the Seattle Storm.
Now, according to Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel, D12 wants to stay in Orlando.
Let's take a closer look at the newest rumor surrounding Howard.
What Does This Mean?
It means there is still hope for the Magic.
The fact Howard said he wants to work it out in Orlando doesn't really tell us much, but it at least shows that he's thinking about the possibility of a future with the Magic.
Besides, now Orlando knows he doesn't have both feet out the door.
What Happens Next?
Even if Dwight truly does want to work it out in Orlando, he is still going to demand some help. The Magic need to make a trade before the deadline to bring their All-Star some surrounding talent.
It's possible Orlando could wait until after the season to make a move or two, but executing a trade right now would guarantee Howard signs an extension this summer.
