Matt Flynn Rumors: Where Will Free-Agent Quarterback Land?
The Monday deadline for issuing franchise tags came and went with the Green Bay Packers deciding not to use theirs. That means quarterback Matt Flynn will be headed for free agency on March 13. There has been a ton of speculation over where the 26-year-old will land, but as of now things are very much still up in the air.
There are several quarterback-needy teams around the NFL right now and all are almost certain to at least have a look at Flynn.
The Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks could all use an upgrade at the position, but we can already probably cross a few of those teams off the list.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Seahawks are not expected to make a play for Flynn because his price tag is likely to be pretty high and there is no guarantee that he will make them better. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns appear ready grab Baylor's Robert Griffin III in the 2012 NFL Draft, even if that means trading up to do so.
That leaves the Redskins and Dolphins.
Miami would be an obvious fit because new head coach Joe Philbin has been the Packers offensive coordinator since 2007. He has a familiarity with Flynn and it wouldn't be surprising if he wanted to bring in a guy who knows his offense to run things. That said, the Dolphins are also thought to be in the running to acquire Peyton Manning, so it may not be as much of a slam dunk as you would assume.
Meanwhile, the Redskins are also a viable option, as head coach Mike Shanahan knows his team needs a change under center. The combination of Rex Grossman and John Beck was awful in 2011 and even if Flynn is a question mark, he can't possibly be worse than those two.
If I had to make a call right now, I'd say the Dolphins are the front runners to land Flynn, with the Redskins coming in a close second.
