Clipper Darrell Video: Emotional Appearance Deserves Response from Clippers

Matt ShetlerJun 7, 2018

The saga between Clipper Darrell and the Los Angeles Clippers could be coming to an end after an 11-year run.

For those not following the story, Clipper Darrell has been to the Clippers basically what Spike Lee has been to the New York Knicks, a super-fan.

His tenure has outlasted any player in a Clippers uniform and through thick and thin he's been at Clippers games dressed in a red and blue suit, cheering on his favorite team.

But the Clippers have asked him to drop the Clippers name and only be referred to as Darrell Bailey.

In a recent emotional interview with ABC 7, Bailey broke down and cried as he discussed the recent situation.

He's got the support of the Clippers players and fans and after his recent on-air appearance, it deserves a response from the Clippers franchise.

They already look bad enough in this situation, that they should respond very quickly.

Otherwise they look as if they simply used Bailey for their benefit, marketing him while they had a lousy team (and there were plenty of those), and simply dumping him once they became a good team.

Whether or not the Clippers want or feel the need to answer Bailey's emotional television appearance, they need to publicly answer and come to a positive solution.

They've already received enough bad press from this saga, something that could have been avoided.

When your a franchise owned by Donald Sterling, bad press is par for the course, but asking for the bad press by turning your back on your fans is something different altogether.

The Clippers already look like the bad guys here.

If they don't answer Bailey, they look even worse.
