Arsenal Transfers: 7 Forwards Gunners Must Target This Summer

Arsene Wegner is in desperate need to win trophies. To do so, the team needs to rely on someone other than captain Robin van Persie, who has scored 25 of Arsenal's 55 goals in the Premier League.

The last time the club won something was in 2005, when the Gunners lifted the FA Cup, and a season earlier they were Premier League champions.

To accomplish the feat, Wegner needs to take advantage of the summer transfer window.

Lukas Podolski

Lukas Podolski has been a cornerstone of German club Cologne and already has a provisional agreement with Arsenal.

The 26-year-old who shined at the 2010 World Cup could make a great and explosive partnership with Van Persie, due to his strength and speed. He's also a superb ball striker.

Olivier Giroud

At age 25, Olivier Giroud has become Montpellier's hitman. This season he's scored 16 goals in Ligue 1, and sits as top scorer of the French league.

He has expressed his desire to become a Gunner, and if the transfer happens you can expect to have a striker with a deadly aerial game and a well-trained left foot.

Daniel Sturridge

Currently playing for Chelsea, Daniel Sturridge wants to asses his options after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked from the Blues.

The English forward has proven his abilities in the Premier League, where he has scored 10 times and become a key element, as Fernando Torres hasn't been up to expectations.

Sturridge played last week with the England national team, where his speed and strength helped unbalance the Netherlands defense.

Rodrigo Moreno

At age 20, Rodrigo Moreno has made quite an impact on Benfica, where he has scored 14 goals in 21 appearances. At the Primeira Liga, he sits sixth in the top-scorers table.

Moreno knows how to keep and pass the ball accurately, especially when in the box. He's very fast and dribbles in style, reasons why several Premier League clubs want to sign him.

He played for Spain in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Matías Suárez

Matías Suárez is an Argentinian footballer who's said to already have signed a pre-agreement with Arsenal.

In reality, Suárez is still playing for Anderlecht, where he's the starting and most prolific forward striker of the team, having scored five times in the Belgian Pro League.

The right-footed Matías is 23 years old and is a very skillful player with very smooth touch on the ball.

Junior Hoilett

Straight from Canada, Junior Hoilett has helped the Blackburn Rovers with three goal. Despite being only 21 years old, he has already been linked to several clubs.

Among his best attributes are passing accuracy and shooting from long distance.

Leandro Damiao

Back in the winter transfer window it was said that Tottenham and Arsenal were targeting Leandro Damiao, a Brazilian international.

The deals weren't made and he stayed at Sport Club Internacional, where he has played his entire senior career.

Damiao may be a great addition to the Gunners as he can hold the ball, dribble and shoot accurately both inside and outside the box.
