ACC Tournament 2012: Potential Matchups We're Dying to See

Just like the regular season kept fans on the edge of their seats, the 2012 ACC Tournament is going to be fantastic to watch. Of course, some matchups will be far more intriguing than others. 

Tournament time is always great to watch unfold, and the ACC has some of the best teams in the country. 

Not every game will be a thriller, but some will be just the beginning of the insanity that is sure to ensue during March Madness. 

With that said, here's three potential matchups we're dying to see. 

Duke vs. Florida State 

If these two teams are going to meet in the tournament, they will both have to win their first game. As the No. 2 and No. 3 teams, Duke and Florida State have the chance of squaring off in the semifinals. 

The first time the Blue Devils and Seminoles went head-to-head this season, Florida State won on a buzzer beater, ending Duke's home game win streak. 

Duke got revenge a month later, but they didn't win by a huge margin. These two teams will definitely produce one heck of a game, giving fans a ton of excitement from tip-off all the way until the clock hits triple zero. 

There's a chance they may not face each other, but the likelihood of that happening is slim, so expect Duke and Florida State to battle it out for a spot in the finals on March 10. 

Florida State vs. North Carolina 

The Seminoles absolutely annihilated the Tar Heels in their only meeting this season. Should the get together for a rematch, it will be in the finals of the ACC Tournament. 

FSU beat UNC 90-57 back in mid-January, and there is no doubt that the Tar Heels want to get revenge on the Seminoles. 

UNC was having a bad game and FSU wasn't missing on much of anything, which led to the blowout victory. 

If they were to meet in the finals, the Tar Heels would definitely play much better, and that would make for an epic game. 

Duke vs. North Carolina 

This would also be a finals matchup and it certainly wouldn't disappoint. 

The first game between these two teams back in early February was perhaps the best game of the year.

The second one was a massive blowout win for the Tar Heels, which will only fuel the Blue Devils to perform at a high level in the tournament. 

Duke has won the past three ACC Tournaments, beating North Carolina in last year's final. 

With such a rich history between these two teams, anytime they face off it's going to be great. When it's for the the conference title, though, the intensity is raised, which is why this is a game we definitely want to see this year.
