Social media plays a huge part in our lives these days.

Trends and news feeds mean we receive information quicker than ever before, and it also means that the little person has a voice on whatever subject they choose.

Football is the biggest sport in the world, so it's no surprise to find Twitter feeds buzzing with comments on the weekend's most talked-about points.

Here are a few of the more interesting ones.

Harry Redknapp Brings out the Best in England Players

This amusing tweet by @AdrianHealey caught the eye as it was steeped in sarcasm

Healey is making the point that Harry Redknapp should possibly take the available England manager's job due to Fabio Capello handing in his resignation.

Goals and goal scoring records are the subjects that always seem to follow any mention of Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres.

With the amount of visitors that Poland and Ukraine are likely to receive during Euro 2004, let's hope they solve whatever issues they have quickly.

Afterthoughts

Twitter can be hilarious at times, but also extremely cruel.

There's no hiding for sports stars once a story is released, and often Twitter provides information—not always accurately—about an event before the news stations do.
