Peyton Manning Rumors: Positive Reports Will Draw Mass Interest from NFL Teams

Scott SemmlerJun 7, 2018

The video of the supposed Peyton Manning throwing at Duke University has been confirmed as Manning by ESPN's Chris Mortensen, and it is sure to play quite a role in both the Indianapolis Colts' looming decision and the teams that could be interested in acquiring him if he enters free agency.

Leave it to Manning for a video showing him throwing with virtually zero problems surfacing within less than a week before the Colts need to make a decision on his future.

Also, leave it Manning to have a report confirmed about "aggressive throwing sessions" he has participate in recently with wide receivers Austin Collie, Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokely.

It is good news for Manning, who has heard his name and body bashed around uncontrollably since his 2011-12 season was put to bed.  It left the future of his NFL career in the dark after the Colts had the worst record in the NFL this season earning them the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, which they will supposedly be taking Stanford QB Andrew Luck with.

Figuring the Colts run with Luck, they should be ready to start him next season given his impressive credentials and potential as the next big thing in the pocket.

Given that, Indianapolis would be fools to pay Manning the $28 million owed to him on March 8, which is why he will be released and thrown into the pack of wolves the NFL will turn into when Manning becomes a free-agent.

However, the video and reports only help Manning's free-agent stock at this time, which has wavered continuously since his slew of neck surgeries.

The reactions have gone from 'his career is over' to the more recent reports saying that his arm is just as good as it ever was.

The only thing here is that his arm was rarely called into question over the past few months—it was his neck and resistance to injury that was called into question more than anything else.

His arm looks fine and he is reportedly working hard to play again in the NFL. We can believe teams will be lining up for a peek at what Manning has to offer given these most recent positive reports.
