WWE Smackdown 3/2: Ranking the Moments
Hey Bleachers!
Just finished watching SmackDown.
I've got to say, it was a good show. It had some good moments, but, of course, had its downers as well. I give it an 8 out of 10.
Speaking of those moments, I'm going to rank them from good to best, and when it's really needed, I will add another slide checking out the really bad moments.
Let's start.
We didn't need...
1 of 12Natalya's "storyline": I'm sure you've seen this debated on this site loads of times, and I'm pretty sure the majority is against it.
I mean, having a great Diva talent like Nattie on the roster, capable of having great matches and backstage segments, is instead used to for a quick laugh.
This is wrong, people.
And when I thought it couldn't get worse, she used it tonight as a "weapon" to shut up Eve Torres. I can't describe how stupid this is.
10. Hyping next week's shows
2 of 12I enjoyed the backstage segments between Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis. It can get a quick laugh out of me from time to time.
The backstage segment after Kane attacked Orton was the one that kept me thinking what to expect on SmackDown, since Johnny was going to "destroy it", and also had something planned for the Big Red Monster, having him attack Aksana or something.
Good promos.
9. Santino vs. Slater
3 of 12I'm a fan of Santino Marella. He's over, has a lot of charisma and is a great act.
But, after his exciting Elimination Chamber performance, I was eagerly expecting WWE to elevate him to a next level, erase the comedian from the script, and give him a more serious look, but I guess that was just foolish thinking.
Santino defeated Heath Slater in a good, quick match, but does that give you a lot of credibility?
Beating one of the biggest jobbers in the company doesn't give you a lot of points.
8. Eve and Natalya
4 of 12If you forget about the last minutes of the backstage segment, it was pretty good.
Although the match lasted like 2 or 3 minutes, it was starting to feel like a big match at times until Eve got the quick win.
Still, if you compare this match with recent ones on live TV, it was pretty good. Hopefully WWE sees the light.
It appears Natalya is now a face, thanks to her new "gimmick," and Eve is turning into a pretty interesting (and beautiful) heel.
7. Mark Henry vs the Big Show
5 of 12Hey look! It's the most common rematch since Randy Orton vs. Christian!
Seriously, doesn't WWE have someone else Big Show can crush?
The Hall of Pain has gone out of business, Mark can't get a single win.
He looked strong in the first half of the match, but when Big Show kicked out of that Strongest Slam, you knew he was going to win it.
Big Show needed a win tonight, I agree on that. But at least give him another heel to do so. Mark is barely credible now.
6. Drew McIntyre Getting Fired
6 of 12Finally.
They decided to give Drew his "final" loss and take him off TV, for now at least.
This storyline so far has only given McIntyre TV time, even if he kept losing.
Now that he lost to Justin Gabriel and finally got fired, where will Creative go with him next?
According to a lot of rumors, Drew has been seen on live shows, during his entrances, blowing kisses to other guys.
If this is what's being planned for Drew's future, I'd prefer having him written off. That would be even worse.
Please WWE, turn him into a normal face or a great heel. Anything but a "questionable playboy."
5. Cody Rhodes's Promo
7 of 12He cut a great promo on Big Show's losing streak at Wrestle
Even Big Show helped the promo out, he really sounded like he was playing dumb when he asked Cody to come back and see the clips with him.
He was going to get him himself, until Teddy came out and announced that ...
4. Intercontinental Championship to be defended at the Show of Shows
8 of 12It's been a long time since the Intercontinental Championship was defended at Wrestlemania, and finally, it will be battled for this year.
Cody Rhodes has been the IC champ for over 200 days now, so having him fight to keep the title at Mania is a good move. And his rival, the Big Show, can give a good match, even thought I don't think he's leaving with the gold.
It's bound to be a good one.
3. Daniel Bryan's backstage promo
9 of 12It might of been a bit on the short side, but you gotta admit, that promo was pretty great.
He kept the vegan speech to a minimum (even though it doesn't really bother me), and went on to describe all of his recent highlights since he became the World Heavywight Champion.
And of course, he got heat from his hometown when he said he was born in Washington, but moved to Las Vegas the first chance he got. Man, that was awesome.
Bryan is getting better at the mic. Making him a heel was a great move.
2. Sheamus Keeps on Winning
10 of 12He cut a pretty good promo about him being the person who will help Daniel Bryan be a normal guy once again by taking the title.
He also described that when he won the WWE Championship, he became a bully. Great to see WWE using the past to create good promos!
Then he got interrupted by Dolph, stating that he should be in the main event. It turned into a match, and pretty great one at that. Really nice back-and-forth action, showing Sheamus's power amd Ziggler's heel side as well, by having Vickie Guerrero saving him, and Jack Swagger trying to interrupt the Great White.
In the end, Sheamus won, which was the obvious outcome. Can't really have him lose right now.
1. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan, and Kane
11 of 12What a great match this was.
It was surely to be expected from these two high-caliber talents.
This had the potential of being a PPV main event. These guys can deliver.
The only thing that really bothered me was Bryan getting picked apart early, which is a bad move if you want your champion to be somewhat dominant.
Orton also looked hurt at times. I don't know if it was a product of him coming back too early from injury, or he was just acting really well.
Just when Randy got a hold of Bryan at ringside, Kane came out and attacked the Viper. The match ended in a count-out because of this.
I don't really know how this feud is going to continue.
Will Kane play the "Embrace the hate" thing and turn Orton heel?
Guess we'll have to wait and find out.
Thanks for Reading!

I'll read all of them and analyze them to see where I can be better at this.
If it's any good, I'll do this weekly!
That's all for now!
