Russell Westbrook: Updates on Oklahoma City Thunder Star's Ankle Injury
The Oklahoma City Thunder are fresh off a stirring come-from-behind victory over the Orlando Magic, but that good news comes with a tinge of bad—Russell Westbrook suffered an ankle injury at the end of that game.
Oklahoma City Thunder writer Royce Young reports the following on Westbrook and an injury that may threaten to keep him out of some games:
"Team says Russell Westbrook is day-to-day with an ankle sprain. His status for Saturday is definitely up in the air.

The next game on the schedule is Saturday against the formidable Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta has a tough team but has been playing some uninspired ball as of late, going 1-4 in its last five games.
Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman reports on Westbrook and discusses the sprained ankle Westbrook suffered in what was an exciting battle in Orlando:
"With 5:46 remaining in the fourth quarter, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook rolled his left ankle while driving to the basket. ...
After the game, however, he walked out of the arena with a limp and was said to have an ankle sprain. He will be listed as day-to-day.
“I feel all right,” Westbrook said.
"
Mayberry reminds us that Westbrook has quite the streak going ahead of Saturday's game—the Thunder's star point guard has played in 282 consecutive games.
That's an admirable streak that will be tested in the next day.
