Liverpool vs. Arsenal: Reds Welcome Battered and Beaten Gunners to Anfield

Arsene Wenger will take his boys to Anfield and hope the latest flock of International friendlies haven't sucked his side dry. 

Both English giants will have their fair share of International Friendly woes as a few stars will be banged up headed into an all-important match that has tremendous table implications. 

Arsene Wenger will contend the Gunners are the most ravaged by the recent set of exhibitions. He is even keen on making an official complaint, as Mirror Football reports.

Arsenal boss Wenger has threatened to report the Belgian FA to FIFA after Thomas Vermaelen played 90 minutes of a friendly in Greece despite nursing an ankle problem which makes him doubtful for tomorrow.

Wenger has reason to be irate with a possible absence of defender Vermaelen. The Gunners have had a roller coaster season that begins and ends with inconsistencies along the back line. 

He is not the only star that may have to watch from the sidelines. Skipper Robin Van Persie is also injured, suffering from a sore hamstring that could keep him out of Saturday's match, according to SI.com. 

Van Persie played for the Netherlands in this weeks win over England, and Wenger had this to say. Via SI report.

Van Persie has a little groin problem that we have to assess. It's difficult to understand that our players had to go injured—it's disrespectful to the players.

"

It's important to point out the Gunners are not the only team hit hard by injury at the moment. Liverpool has its fair share of health issues to assuage before this clash. 

Midfielder Steven Gerrard injured his hamstring in the same match against the Netherlands. All this means is a match with huge implications may be missing the biggest names in English Premier League football. 

Arsenal is gripping to the final Champions League place in fourth, one ahead of Chelsea. Liverpool is playing solid and undefeated football at home. 

They can play the part of exuberant spoiler and increase their chances of sneaking into proper placement at the top of the table. 

Both teams will have issues with health, but they still have the weapons to stave off the opposition. This is a match that has all the signs of a brutal draw. 

Wenger is justified in the fumes rising above his head.

With the full complement of stars, I could have seen Arsenal taking away the points on the exciting road trip.
