NBA Breaking News: Lamar Odom Assigned to Dallas Mavericks D-League Team

Lamar Odom will soon suit up for the Dallas Mavericks, but first he has some D-League work to put in.

UPDATE: Friday, March 2nd, 7:43 p.m. EDT

Things are far from back to normal regarding Lamar Odom. He may be a D-league game or two from being fit, but head coach Rick Carlisle sounds far more frustrated that we may have been lead to believe. 

Here is what Carlisle had to say in his appearance Friday on the ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's "Galloway & Co." Text via ESPN.

When he comes back, we're going to find out very quickly where things are at. He's going to have to show us with his actions and attitude that he's in."

Mark asks a fundamental question of anybody in our franchise: Are they in or are they not in? Our fans want to know that Lamar's in. Our players want to know that Lamar's in. It's not about how many points he's scoring or rebounds; those things are a factor. Our fans, our players want to see the guy playing like his pants are on fire and we haven't seen that so far and that's got to change.

Dallas Mavericks reporter Earl K. Sneed tweets Odom's next destination will be to play for the Texas Legends, a Mavericks D-League affiliate.

This move is done in order to get Odom back into game shape before rejoining the team following a personal leave from the team.
