Robert Griffin III Combine: Solid Showing Must Be Duplicated at RGIII's Pro Day

Eric BowmanJun 7, 2018

Robert Griffin III is going to be a high draft pick no matter what, but he can ease the minds of many but dominating at his pro day even more so than he did at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine.

All eyes will be watching Griffin's arm, and he better hope he thrives or the doubters will greatly increase.

Griffin's pro day is on March 21, and he'll need to excel in throwing, as well as any other drills he decides to do for the boatload of scouts and media members that are sure to be in attendance.

Anything less than a great outing will not bode well for Griffin.

The Heisman Trophy winner easily stole the show at the combine, putting his athletic abilities on full display, which increased the hype surrounding him.

Griffin was a top performer in the 40-yard-dash and the vertical jump, posting a time of 4.41 seconds and leaping for 39 inches.

However, Griffin elected not to throw at the combine, and that was a bit of a letdown.

Since Andrew Luck wasn't throwing, RGIII would have had the perfect opportunity to spark further debates about which quarterback is truly the better prospect.

He may have felt uncomfortable throwing with different receivers and in a different atmosphere.

That's perfectly fine, and Griffin choosing not to throw at the combine didn't hurt his draft stock by any means.

Still, though, he has to thrive at his pro day, as it will do wonders for his name leading up to the draft.

Everybody knows Andrew Luck is going to do well at his pro day, and since Griffin's is the day before, he has to put on one heck of a performance.

If Griffin is able to shine bright with virtually no errors, the smallest of slip ups by Luck will create mad chaos in the NFL draft world.

Of course, there's no guarantee Luck stumbles at all, which is just another reason Griffin has to be remarkable on March 21.
