FC Barcelona will be facing Sporting de Gijon at Camp Nou on March 3, 2012. The match will take place at Camp Nou in Barcelona.

The Barca Web site reports that Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets and Eric Abidal will be missing. Thiago Alcantara may be out (according to an article in Reuters Africa h/t FC Barcelona Web site) secondary to a right tibia problem.

Messi was suspended for the first time in his career with La Liga for various infractions. According to the Barca Web site, Messi received the suspension after being yellow-carded for a handball, simulating a foul and protesting a call by a referree.

The suspension occurred during the match between FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Sergio Busquets also received a suspension during the match.

Abidal suffered a groin injury during the friendly match between France and Germany. The result of the match was a French victory.

While Barca will play one of its matches without Messi, the possibility of victory lies in continuing the game plan. The first part of the plan is a strong offense and defense with the 4-3-3 position.

The second part of the plan lies in a winning attitude which trumps anything said by the experts. While the above plan is simple, it is what wins 99 percent of the matches.

It remains to be seen how La Blaugrana will fare without Messi.
