What Will Happen in the WWE in 2009? Take It From a Guy Who Knows

As many know if you have seen my work here on B/R, I spend a lot of time circulating through sites, and talking to some insiders as much as possible.

Guys like Jason Powell, who is the insider for prowrestling.net has been nice enough to stop by my e-mail address a few times and let me know a few things. And I get my stuff from other places too.

So I guess you could say I know a good bit about what is going on.

 

Legacy

If you saw WWE RAW, you saw Cody Rhodes get the pin in a tag match with Sim Snuka. Both were told "if you win you are in" by Randy Orton. Well they won, and Orton said Rhodes was the only one in Legacy, leaving Snuka out.

A week before that, my least favorite person in the WWE, Manu, lost to ECW Champion Matt Hardy. That left him out. So what will happen in 2009 for Legacy?

Well, Legacy will disband. With Rhodes being the only member Orton will not be able to keep Legacy afloat. Rhodes is good, but not that good. Also I bet he remembers what Orton did to his father Dusty Rhodes still.

So once there is a problem, or Rhodes sees Orton for what he truly is, thenwe might see something go wrong. Also Ted Dibiase, Jr. will be back in February so what is Rhodes going to do then?

He has his tag team partner in DiBiase who got punted into next week by Orton. And he has Orton as his leader in Legacy. With all this pressure on him, Rhodes will not pick a side.

So both will have to settle it. So we will see a DiBiase vs Orton matchup. And with Dibiase being loved by WWE management and having a new movie out in The Marine 2, I believe he will go over.

So Rhodes I bet will pick the winner as the guy he sides with. I feel DiBiase will get wise to that and kick him to the curb. And then DiBiase may go face through that. Orton will stay in that tweener persona that he does so well in.

 

Christian Cage

His TNA contract has ended and he will be signing a WWE Contract this week, that is what we know so far. Also we know he will take the slot as the Jeff Hardy attacker. But what will happen after that?

Well as I have written Cage will do a hit-and-run on Hardy with his car. But it will not only be Hardy in the car, we will also see his fiance Beth in the car too. Hardy will be ok so that he could be in storylines.

But Beth will be hurt, and with that distraction he will lose the WWE Title to Edge at The Rumble coming up. Also there may be a guest appearance by Cage too, but that is just a guess.

Later that night we will see Jeff Hardy go crazy and take out a member of the Rumble to be in himself and win the Rumble. Soon after most likely the SmackDown after the Royal Rumble Edge will reveal Cage as Hardy's attacker.

Cage will make his WWE TV debut, and Hardy of course will be angry. Since Hardy took out a person in the Rumble we will have to settle it in an Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out to see who will really be the No. 1 contender.

I feel Hardy will win, but keep getting attacked or screwed over by Cage until he turns down his Title opportunity at the Rumble. And Triple H will take his spot. Don't ask me how.

We will see a Christian Cage vs Jeff Hardy match at Wrestlemania, but not a TLC match sorry. It most likely will have a gimmick to it. Possibly a Last Man Standing or something similar.

 

World Titles

I feel that Edge will keep the title until Wrestlemania when he faces Triple H. HHH has not won a Wrestlemania match for a Title since Wrestlemania 19. So he is due when you think about it.

So we will have to sit through another reign. Possibly not as long, we may see Hardy have a beef since he won the Rumble but didn't go to the Title match at Mania. And could see Hardy win it back later on.

John Cena will hold onto the World Heavyweight Championship through Wrestlemania. He most likely will face Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. And since he won last year and beat Cena, Cena will get his revenge at beat Orton.

He will lose the title to the returning Batista around late June. It will have been a good reign for Cena and it will go through his movie 12 Rounds. So they will be able to promote him well.

It will be out in the spring, so it would work. Since the WWE are copycats of themselves they will make the similar return they did for Cena, by having Batista win the Title once he gets back.

Also Batista has not had a good title reign in two years, and that was on SmackDown not RAW. So we will see him hold onto it, possibly losing around Wrestlemania 26.

The ECW Championship will be lost aswell. Possibly not to long either. Jack Swagger is a big up and comer right now. The WWE loves him, and he is doing well as a heel on ECW currently.

He has all the tools to be one of the best in the WWE too. So Hardy will lose to him. Maybe not next week when they face each other, but soon after. Most likely he will face him at Wrestlemania. Either there or No Way Out

It wouldn't be at the Rumble considering I'm sure the WWE wants Swagger in the Rumble match. They need ECW stars in it, and with Evan Bourne possibly returning in it, he would be the only one.

I believe Mark Henry, Swagger, Bourne, and maybe Gabriel will be in it. But of course we could have debuts or something like that in the Rumble. There is always surprises at the Rumble, so we will have to watch and see.

These are only a few things I am hearing or believe will happen from events that are coming up. Do you agree?
