Honda Classic 2012 Tee Times: Rory McIlroy and Other Top Golfers Starting Times

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

The 2012 Honda Classic has resumed today and a number of top golfers from around the world are continuing their quest for glory and a piece of the $5.7 million purse.

Here are three golfers to keep an eye on in the second round and when they tee off.

Rory McIlroy – 12:30 p.m. EDT – Tee No. 1

With Jayson Tatum sidelined, Celtics' fourth-quarter comeback falls short in Game 7 loss to 76ers

The world No. 2 golfer shot a four-under par 66 yesterday and looked fantastic doing it.

He’s got a real shot to win this thing and it seems that the young Irishman gets better with each passing competition.

The kid isn’t satisfied though.

"

"I might be a little more focused on what I'm doing,'' said McIlroy, 22, when asked about his recent run of success. "I'm working harder than ever, and I haven't really reaped the rewards of it yet. I've been very consistent, but I haven't won. ... I've played three tournaments this year and had a couple of chances to win. I feel like it's very close.''

"

Look for him to finish strong these next few days and place at the top, or damn close.

Tiger Woods – 7:30 a.m. EDT – Tee No. 10

Woods has been struggling for a long time now and is no longer a threat to win every single competition he plays in.

Tiger shot a plus-one yesterday and it put him in the middle of the pack.

He’s got a lot of ground to make up if he wants to get in contention, somehow win this thing and instill confidence back in himself and his fans.

Davis Love III – 1:00 p.m. EDT – Tee No. 10

Love had a vintage performance yesterday and he did not look like a 47-year-old Ryder Cup captain, but rather a younger version of himself that won the 1998 PGA Championship.

He was fortunate to have avoided the winds that plagued golfers who started late yesterday, but he will not have that same benefit today.

Keep a look out to see if his first round was a fluke or if this man is for real.
