UFC on FX 2: Who Is in Danger of Being Cut?
Tonight, the UFC is in Australia for its 200th event, as UFC on FX 2 goes down from Sydney, Australia.
The main event features a welterweight matchup between Thiago "Pitbull" Alves and Martin "The Hitman" Kampmann.
However, many fans are more excited for the two fights preceding the main event, as these are the semifinals of the flyweight tournament to crown the first-ever UFC flyweight champion.
The first fight is between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall, and the second is between Joseph Benavidez and Yasuhiro Urushitani.
This entire card generally has a high level of talent, but there are a few fighters who could potentially be cut with a loss. Let's take a look at who they are.
Mackens Semerzier
1 of 3First up is featherweight Mackens Semerzier, who will face off against Daniel Pineda on the undercard tonight.
Semerzier is 1-3 [1 NC] in his last five fights, and the one no-contest was originally a TKO loss.
The no-contest is also his most recent fight, but that's still not a great result.
With a loss, Semerzier will go to 1-4 [1 NC] in his last six, and 2-4 [1 NC] overall in the UFC and WEC.
That's not a record that will get most guys kept in the UFC.
TJ Waldburger
2 of 3T.J. Waldburger is a welterweight who will be facing off against Jake Hecht.
Waldburger is currently 2-1 in his UFC career, with wins over David Mitchell and Mike Stumpf.
Two-and-two isn't a terrible record inside the Octagon, but with a bad performance, it could be enough for him to be shown the door.
Aaron Rosa
3 of 3Aaron Rosa is a light-heavyweight who will face off against James Te-Huna tonight.
Rosa is currently 1-1 in the Octagon, with a TKO loss and a majority decision victory.
With a loss, Rosa will drop to 1-2, and, similar to Waldburger, it isn't a terrible record, but it could be enough for him to find himself looking for work.
