National Champs Again! Florida Reigns Supreme Over Sooners
For the second time in three years the Florida Gators are National Champions of college football. Capping off a 12-1 regular season finish the Gators defeated #1 Oklahoma to finish the year 13-1. Tim Tebow was the star of the game with 341 combined yards (232 passing, 109 rushing)
The result of the game has implications that Tebow will either stay at school for one more year to try and earn his third title or head for the pros where his stock surely rose after this win.
There is no doubt that Tim loves the school of Florida and has given them all he has to give for the last three years. Tebow also has sent in papers to see where he would likely be drafted.
I personally think Tim Tebow should stay in college for one more year to learn the game even more. If he comes out right now he will be between a second to third round pick. Say he stays at school and wins another title his stock for the 2010 draft will likely be a first round selection.
Many people believe that he is only a good college player and won't be as good in the pros. Yes, the NFL is much tougher than College but Tim has the determination and dedication to lead a team. After their 30-31 loss to Ole Miss Tebow had the following comments:
"We were hoping for an undefeated season, that was my goal. But, I promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this. You will never see any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of the season. You will never see anybody push the team as hard as I will push everybody for the rest of the season. You will never see a team play harder than we will the rest of the season. God bless!"
That is a true team leader. He followed through with his bold statement in a big way. Tebow said these words with tears in his eyes and people thought he was a crybaby who wasn't worth a crap. Look at him now, everybody. On top of the world. Kissing the trophy that the team has won.
Congratulations to the Florida Gator nation and to their fans! I respect them as a team and their work ethic tonight was spectacular. Fantastic job.
