Klitschko vs. Mormeck Predictions: Wladimir Will Destroy Opponent with Nasty KO
Wladimir Klitschko is going to destroy Jean-Marc Mormeck.
This is probably the easiest prediction I have made all week, and I am confident that Klitschko will prove me right.
I learned a long time ago never to bet against a Klitschko, and it's sound advice for those of you who are trying to predict a winner of this fight.
Don't try too hard—this one might as well already be in the bag.
Klitschko has all the advantages, but according to Bob Velin of USA Today, he and his trainer Emanuel Steward are both taking this bout very seriously:
"They realize upsets can happen and point to Wladimir's losses to heavy underdogs Ross Puritty in 1998 and Corrie Sanders in 2003.
"We're fighting a fighter with a style unlike anyone Wladimir has had to fight," Steward said during a conference call with reporters Wednesday from Dusseldorf, Germany, where the fight will take place before a sold-out crowd of up to 50,000 at Espirit Arena. "Everyone says it's a total mismatch, but styles make fights. We're fighting a guy with a bob-and-weave style, something Wladimir has not fought against.
"
This is what I like to hear as a Klitschko supporter. He's got the experience factor and all the titles. At 56-3 with 49 KOs to Mormeck's 36-4 with 22, he's got the record advantage. He even has the height advantage, according to Velin's piece, standing at 6'6'' to his 5'11" opponent.
However, he's still preparing, taking it seriously and on top of his game. That's an unstoppable combination.
While Mormeck may be able to use his leverage and bob-and-weave to get under Klitschko's chin, I have a hard time thinking a fighter as experienced as Klitschko will let him do that. In the end, Wladamir's size and skill will be too much and he will find a way to defeat him.
The question at this point is whether or not he'll knock him out. To that question, I have another prediction.
Klitschko will reach the epic half-century mark of knockouts in a demolition of Mormeck.
