NFL Pro Day Schedule: 12 Pro Days We're Most Looking Forward To

Adam OdekirkJun 7, 2018

The NFL Scouting Combine has wrapped up and next on the docket for NFL scouts is checking out the various pro days set up between now and the draft.

Former general managers like Charley Casserly agree that the combine is nice, but it really just helps direct scouts to what pro day they want to see. There is a lot more "football" that goes on at a pro day, but even using that performance isn't fool proof.

Pro days are set up by the schools to showcase their draft-worthy talent, so even though there will be players that teams are coming for (i.e. Andrew Luck at Stanford), other prospects will get a chance to shine as well.

The following slides will break down the big days that boast high profiles schools and the talent that will be on display that day.

March 7th

1 of 7

Alabama:

The Crimson TIde always offer a large helping of NFL-worthy talent for scouts to evaluate. Any team looking to improve has to look to the defending national champions for solid players.

First-round prospects highlighted by Trent Richardson and Dre' Kirkpatrick will make this pro day a must-see for teams seeking offense and defense.

USC:

Even though Matt Barkley will not be eligible for the draft this year, there are still exciting first-round names working out for USC.

Matt Kalil could be the highest non-quarterback drafted this year, and his teammate DE Nick Perry is also looking to impress and make his way into the first round.

March 8th

Miami:

Scouts will head down to South Beach to see just how fast Lamar Miller can get his 40-yard dash clocked in around the mid-4.3's, as was expected.

Nebraska:

Just how much first-round talent is coming out of the corn fields this year? Teams will venture to Lincoln to see if Alfonzo Dennard, Jared Crick or even Lavonte David are worthy of high picks to help bolster an NFL defense.

March 9th

3 of 7

Oklahoma State:

This will be the last chance for teams to watch fellow draft participants, Justin Blackmon and Brandon Weeden, play pitch and catch. It seems likely that the Rams have eyes for Blackmon, but it will be interesting to see which teams show up to talk to Weeden.

Florida State:

The hallmark of a Seminoles Pro Day is speed; this draft class will be looking to showcase that same characteristic. There are four players who participated in the combine from FSU, headlined by OL Zebrie Sanders, who could be a first-round pick.

Michigan State:

Spartan fans are hoping that beloved quarterback Kirk Cousins can turn enough heads to be drafted onto an NFL roster. DL Jerel Worthy will likely be the first Spartan off the board with a good workout on his home turf.

Oklahoma:

Bob Stoops will open the doors to his facility and put standout players like DE Frank Alexander, WR Ryan Broyles and LB Travis Lewis on display for teams looking to draft a play with that Sooner pedigree.

March 21st

Baylor:

The Robert Griffin III derby will really heat up if the superstar quarterback wows with his arm on the pro day. It will be a who's who of teams in attendance looking to acquire the Heisman-winning QB. It'll interesting to see just which team representatives show up.

Wouldn't it be interesting if new Colts head coach Chuck Pagano and GM Ryan Grigson made their way down to Waco in order to observe the multi-threat QB? Is that why Baylor changed the day so that it didn't conflict with Stanford's?

It's more likely that Mike Shanahan, Pat Shurmur and perhaps some surprise guests will be there to see just how much Griffin is worth to their team.

Top talent like WR Kendall Wright and RB Terrance Ganaway will also participate and could be the targets of other teams in attendance.

March 22nd

6 of 7

Stanford:

Andrew Luck will be the star of the show, but the Colts will surely have their brass in attendance surrounding the future of their franchise.

It will also be a chance for TE Coby Fleener, OL Jonathan Martin and OL David DeCastro to defend their high draft potential as well.

LSU:

The team that had one of the most impressive regular seasons in NCAA history will put their talent on display for NFL scouts.

First-round prospects like Morris Claiborne and Michael Brockers will generate a lot of attention, but will teams have a chat with Jordan Jefferson as well?

March 29th

7 of 7

Ryan Tannehill will be hosting his own pro day in order to give his surgically-repaired foot the proper time to heal.

There is a lot of speculation that Tannehill could be the third quarterback taken in the NFL Draft, but a lot of that will be determined by what he is able to demonstrate in his workout.
