Klitschko vs Mormeck: Champ Will Easily End Mormeck's Run for Heavyweight Title

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

Jean-Marc Mormeck is trying to become only the third fighter to ever earn a title belt in the Cruiserweight ranks and the Heavyweight ranks, joining Evander Holyfield and David Haye.

Current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO & Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko, whose title run is the seventh longest in the sport's history, will easily put an end to that chase.

In fact, in doing so, Klitschko will also achieve his monumental 50th career knockout victory.

The 35-year-old Ukranian, also known as "Dr. Steelhammer," i one of the best punchers we've seen step into the ring. He's 56-3 in his career and hasn't lost a fight since 2004—to Lamon Brewster by TKO.

All three of Klitschko's losses were TKO's, and it has caused many to question whether his chin was tough enough.

He's fought out of that though and has only seen three fights go the distance since his loss to Brewster.

Mormeck was knocked out by Haye—the last person Klitschko fought—in 2007. It was Mormeck's first loss as a Heavyweight after coming back from a two-year hiatus.

Haye, a British fighter, went toe-to-toe with the Ukranian in Hamburg, Germany, and took him the distance.

That still doesn't offer much of a chance for Mormeck, though. Klitschko has a seven-inch height advantage and needs to only connect once to end the fight.

The French Mormeck has made an admirable run at being the third fighter ever to win a Heavyweight title after winning a Cruiserweight belt.

But, he won't be able to put down Klitschko.
