Honda Classic 2012: Tee Times, Date and TV Schedule

Michael DixonJun 7, 2018

The PGA Tour begins its Florida swing this week with a trip to PGA National and its famed "Bear Trap" for the Honda Classic. Tiger Woods will make an appearance here for the first time in his career. Rory Sabbatini won the Honda last year, edging out Y.E. Yang by one shot.

This will be a return to the traditional stroke play format after one week of matchplay.

Where: PGA National Golf Club. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

What They're Saying

Amanda Balionis selected Rory McIlroy to win with the top pick of the PGA Tour experts on PGATour.com. This is a notable selection because—including Balionis' first pick—five of the experts would have taken McIlroy had he been available to them.

Per Balionis:

"

"He is going to have to hit it straight off the tee this week, but no one has been hotter in the last year in professional golf. He needs to start winning more on the PGA Tour, though, and this is the week to do it."

Golfer to Watch

Mark Wilson

Very much like 2011, Wilson is off to a fantastic start in 2012. But he didn't do nearly as well last season after the PGA Tour left the Western United States. This is the first Florida tournament of the year so it will be interesting to see how Wilson responds to the differences in the courses.

Of course, Tiger Woods is a player to watch every week. I am not putting much stock in this week's tournament, as he's never played this tournament before. Starting with Doral next week, he will be on a much closer watch, especially if his performance this week is a poor one.

Prediction: Keegan Bradley

He is riding some strong momentum, and nearly won two weeks ago in the last stroke play event. Both of his career wins have come in the Southern U.S. (Texas and Georgia), so he has some positive vibes down there.

Bradley has had some strong performances this year, coming off of a dream rookie season. His time is now to come out and return to the winner's circle.
