Chelsea Transfers: 5 Possible Swap Deals for Fernando Torres
What's an under-performing £50 million striker worth on the open market?
We could very well find out this summer, but it's much more fun to speculate now.
Since joining Chelsea in a blockbuster £50 million transfer last winter, Spaniard Fernando Torres has scored just five goals to date for the Blues in all competitions. Not surprisingly, El Niño has been linked with several moves away from Stamford Bridge.
Today we're bringing you five possible swap deals that would involve Torres and at least one player from another club. Know of another potential swap deal for Torres? Let us know in the comments.

Radamel Falcao
1 of 5Torres began his professional career with Atletico Madrid, and he could yet return—if this rumored deal is true. According to reports, Chelsea could swap Torres for Atletico's Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.
Falcao is a high-priced striker himself. The Colombian joined Atletico last summer for £34.7 million after leading Porto to Europa League glory the previous season.
Falcao has scored 20 times this season in all competitions for Atletico.
David Villa
2 of 5Before he broke his leg last December, Barcelona's David Villa was shockingly linked with Aston Villa. In a slightly more realistic rumor, he was also linked with a swap deal involving Torres and Chelsea.
Villa joined Barca for £34.2 million in 2010. His agent recently said Villa could return to action in April.
Barcelona Trio
3 of 5Forget David Villa, apparently. Chelsea really want to swap Torres for a trio of younger players. So says this report, which quotes Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo.
The three players in question are Sergi Roberto, Isaac Cuenca and Martin Montoya. Sergi Roberto is a 20-year-old midfielder who is breaking into Barcelona's first team. Cuenca (pictured) is a 20-year-old forward/winger, and Montoya is a 20-year-old fullback.
Luka Modric
4 of 5Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has strongly denied rumors linking Spurs' Croatian midfielder Luka Modric with a swap deal for Torres.
That doesn't mean Modric is staying put, though.
Pato
5 of 5This is an older rumor, but it could still happen.
Last September, multiple rumors linked Chelsea and Torres with a swap deal involving either Pato or Robinho of AC Milan.
Pato, as you'll recall, stayed with Milan over the winter after reportedly coming close to a PSG move. The Brazilian could yet be on the move this summer.
