The Doctor's Weekly WWE Raw Recap: The 163 Things We Learned, Loved and Hated
Another Raw on the road to WrestleMania is in the books and in this critic's opinion it was a great show. There was solid action all around and a great exchange between The Rock and Cena to close the show.
Punk and Bryan faced off in another great match which ended in controversy as the feud between Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis took over attention in the ring.
We also got to see a trailer for a new movie featuring Edge which I had not seen before. His comedy chops were always above average in WWE so it has more promise than any of the other recent WWE releases.

This week's show also featured a promo from Eve, as well as the return of Kane. The Miz made a convincing plea for attention before having his butt handed to him by Cena in a quick match.
I truly appreciate my loyal readers but for those of you who are new, each week I recap Raw with a long list.
The entries are made up of equal parts humor, recap, play-by-play, revelations, speculations, questions, answers and anything else I notice during the show. I sometimes comment on commercials too just because I get bored during them.
I have started two games each week as well. The first game is trying to correctly predict the length of the next Divas match to the second. The other game is coming up with new and humorous nicknames for David Otunga revolving around a specific part of his character or attire from that week.
This game has produced such wonderful nicknames as the Macchiato Mauler, The Sweater-vest Savior, The Bow-tie Brawler, The Caffeinated Crippler and my personal favorite, the Folger's Soldier.
I try and interject some fun into these lists so I hope you have fun reading this week's list of the 163 things we learned, loved and hated from the show.
1. Raw starts off with a recap of Cena's promo towards The Rock from last week.
2. That really was one of Cena's best promos ever.
3. The first match of the night is a champion vs champion match.
4. CM Punk's music hits
5. I was not aware we were getting a rematch between Punk and Bryan, this will be awesome.
6. Is Jerry Lawler Ed Hardy's dad or something?
7. Long throwing his coat at Laurinaitis and then just bailing makes me laugh for some reason.
8. Jericho's music hits to the surprise of Punk and everyone else who was expecting Daniel Bryan
9. Now that Jericho is back to his old personality, I am confused as to why he is keeping the jacket.
10. Jericho says he thinks Punk is an amazing performer, but he is not as good as Jericho.
11. He claims to be part of a special dying breed of performers who performed all over the world before coming to WWE
12. I actually love this promo from Jericho, he is telling the complete truth about his upbringing in the business.
13. "I'm talking to you boy!"
14. Punk brings up Bret Hart and his catchphrase about being the best to show why he is not copying Jericho.
15. Haha, Punk asks if Jericho invented being Canadian, too.
16. Are we going to get Bryan vs Punk or not?
17. As Jericho is running down his accomplishments a CM Punk chant breaks out
18. I just saw Jericho mess up in a promo for the first time in years
19. He accidentally said he was undeserving of the title "Best in the World."
20. I just noticed Santino was standing by the announce table with Teddy Long.
21. Is Johnny Ace there, too?
22. Punk says Jericho is jealous because he was never the man like Punk is.
23. I don't know if that's really accurate, Jericho was huge in the early 2000s.
24. Good line from Punk, "I've been swimming with sharks while you're dancing with stars."
25. Jericho says the only reason he came back was to embarrass Punk at WrestleMania.
26. Punk makes a little mention of Chris Brown and their feud.
27. I am surprised WWE is encouraging this whole Brown feud.
28. Finally, Bryan's music hits.
29. Wow, he has a whole posse with him in Otunga, AJ and Laurinaitis
30. I have a crazy theory that AJ is just a leftover robot from the sitcom Small Wonder.
31. Bryan hits Punk from behind and they start brawling
32. Did the bell even ring?
33. When we return from commercial, Bryan is in control but Punk reverses the momentum quickly.
34. Otunga has on a stylish orange argyle sweater this week, so that will be the topic of this week's Otunga Nickname Game!
35. I hope you imagined that being said by Rod Roddy while some kind of cheesy 80s game show music playing as you read that.
36. That's right, I'm making old Press Your Luck/Price is Right announcer references, you never know what you'll get here.
37. My nickname for Otunga this week is David "Nothing rhymes with Orange" Otunga, please leave your Otunga nicknames below.
38. I miss that Whammy!
39. Teddy and Johnny are arguing back and forth about who is to blame for the ending to the match on SmackDown
40. V.I.C.I., I mean AJ, is blocking Bryan as Punk almost goes for a suicide dive.
41. Bryan throws Punk into the steps as we head to another commercial.
42. Back again and Bryan has Punk in an abdominal stretch
43. During the commercial they almost did the same double pin that they did on SmackDown.
44. That was a cool ending, haven't seen it very many time before.
45. Punk barely hits the running knee in the corner but can't hit the bulldog.
46. He climbs to the top and hits the Macho Man elbow but can't make the pin.
47. He is holding his mid-section instead of making the pin.
48. He gets up and calls for the GTS.
49. Otunga gets knocked off the apron by Punk and Bryan almost gets on the Labell lock.
50. Santino and Otunga have a little exchange on the apron as Punk and Bryan both go down from a double cross body attempt gone awry
51. Bryan grabs his title and tries to leave but Sheamus runs down and throws him back into the ring.
52. Punk hits the GTS but JL stops the ref from making the count.
53. He calls for the bell and Punk is furious as he knows he had Bryan beat.
54. Long comes in and shoves JL down to the mat.
55. They take off their coats and the GM feud has taken center stage over what was a great match between Punk and Bryan.
56. I am kind of hoping WWE does an extended Punk/Bryan feud after Mania.
57. Jericho attacks Punk on the ramp and body slams him on the steel grating.
58. Punk is down and Jericho slaps on the Walls of Jericho to add insult to injury.
59. Awesome. That was an old school Walls of Jericho with his knee in Punks back and neck instead of the traditional Boston Crab he was doing during his last run.
60. Jericho mocks Punk as the officials try to get him to leave.
61. Josh Matthews is backstage by the trainer's room and he says CM Punk is more angry than hurt.
62. Ha, Cole screws up when he says which video package they will be playing to hype the Taker/Triple H match and has to cover his tracks.
63. The video has other superstars talking about the two men in a sort of documentary style format.
64. I guess Cena and The Miz will be facing off in a rematch from last year's WrestleMania main event.
65. I wonder if The Rock will interfere in this match too?
66. When we come back from another commercial we get a Divas match between Nikki Bella and Kelly Kelly.
68. Let's see is anyone was able to guess the exact time this week.
69. Nikki takes control early on.
70. Kelly hits her spinning head scissors move to take control.
71. Kelly reverses a pin attempt into a bridge and gets the win with a bell to bell time of 1:30 exactly, no winners from the SmackDown recap list predictions.
72. Leave your predictions for the next Divas match time below.
73. After the commercial, we get that really long Rock video package again.
73. Cena is out next followed by Miz for their match.
74. Miz has a mic and he talks about working too hard to be treated as bad as he is.
75. Is this a semi-shoot promo? Everything he is saying is pretty much the truth.
76. He talks about not being on the WrestleMania card yet.
77. It looks like Miz has found some of that intensity that pushed him to the top the first time.
78. The two men lock up and Cena takes control early on.
79. Cena tries for the AA early but Miz reverses into his backbreaker/neckbreaker combo for a near fall.
80. The two trade offense for the whole match.
81. Cena ends up hitting the five knuckle shuffle and the AA for the pin and the win.
82. Short match for what is two former champions and rivals facing off one on one.
83. The camera backstage shows The Rock getting pumped up as he looks at the camera and gives Cena's "you can't see me" sign to the camera.
84. Cena is in the ring smiling as he celebrates his win.
85. OK, a WWE tag team championship match is next.
86. Truth and Little Jimmy are out first followed by Kofi.
87. Vickie screams from the ramp to introduce Dolph Ziggler and U.S. Champion Jack Swagger.
88. Dolph's new shirt reminds me of Miami Vice for some reason.
89. Epico and Primo are out accompanied by the Ravenous Rosa.
90. What the hell, why no Usos?
91. This is interesting, it's a triple threat tag match with three men in the ring at once, I am not sure if I have seen that before.
92. Lots of quick action early on.
93. Before the commercial we see all the people in the match down outside the ring.
94. This Pizza Hut commercial makes me wonder if anyone actually bought that $10,010 Pizza Hut engagement package for Valentine's Day?
95. We return and Swagger is beating on Truth in the corner.
96. Lawler is struggling not to yell "Puppies!" at Rosa.
97. So am I.
98. Truth hits a nice move where he DDTs Primo and Mic Checks Ziggler at the same time.
99. Kofi hits a double Boom Drop for a little pop from the crowd.
100. Epico and Primo win when Epico pins Swagger
101. As they celebrate Kane's pyro and music hit
102. Kane makes his way out and he takes out Primo, Epico, Ziggler and Truth very easily
103. He stands over them as his pyro hits again and he leaves the ring
104. So is he going to try and win the tag titles by himself? I am just confused as to where this could be going.
105. Otunga and JL are talking about The Artist winning all those Oscars and Teddy Long walks in.
106. Johnny Ace yells at Long to get out.
107. He says Long is fired as GM of SmackDown and Long calls him a horse's ass.
108. This is some convincing anger from Laurinaitis, he keeps improving week after week.
109. We come back from what feels like the 100th commercial and get a recap of Eve screwing over Ryder.
110. I love how Cena tried to get the camera man to help him when Eve jumped on him.
111. Eve comes out to some heat. She looks good, as usual.
112. Seeing a teenage girl with braces holding a sign that says Broskis over Hoeskis is kind of unnerving.
113. Eve looks shocked at the reaction she is getting and a Hoeski chant breaks out.
114. She says it's unfair to judge her because it's a man's world.
115. Eve is saying something, but I can't hear what it is over her cleavage.
116. Damn, I think I just proved her point.
117. K2 confronts Eve backstage but Eve just laughs and walks off.
118. Jesus! I looked up from my screen after typing that and Alicia Fox was just there out of nowhere for some reason, shocked me a little bit.
119. There's a preview for a movie starring Edge.
120. I always hoped he would get into comedy. I hope this movie is better than the other wreck WWE Studios churns out
121. Big Show is out next to a nice pop.
122. He gives his hat to a really excited looking kid at ringside which has become his new thing in recent weeks, reminds me of Bret Hart doing it with his sunglasses.
123. Sheamus is out next and it looks like they are teaming to face Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes.
124. Rhodes does another one of his Big Show WrestleMania moments showing his loss to Floyd Mayweather.
125. It looked like Mayweather really laid into Show with those punches, especially since Show's nose was swollen within seconds.
126. He took it like a man, despite his size he still took punches from a World Champion boxer and got up like it was nothing and that's impressive.
127. Show goes right for Henry after the bell and then chases Rhodes.
128. Sheamus tags in and beats Henry with the Brogue kick as Show stares down Rhodes who booked it up the ramp.
129. Henry is not being booked very well for a guy who was very dominant last year.
130. After the commercial, The Rock's music hits and he gets a huge pop, as expected.
131. I wonder how long over the end of the show this segment will run? It's always a lot with The Rock.
132. The Rock shows the camera the goosebumps he has from the reaction he just got.
133. The arena is probably just chilly.
134. The Rock addresses the fact that he isn't always at WWE events and never said he would be.
135. The Rock says he has no other reason to be here other than the fact that he loves the WWE.
136. So, the huge paycheck isn't a reason, Rocky?
137. The Rock just made "Kung Pow Chicken" trend I bet.
138. Damn, the Rock just called Cena a Kung Pow Bitch.
139. The crowd loved it, of course, and a chant breaks out immediately.
140. The Rock said it really hit him when Cena said he would be fighting for all the guys in the back.
141. Wow, The Rock says the word "Babyface", kid of surprising to hear.
142. I wonder if WWE is starting to embrace the terminology being out in the open, their new line of shirts would certainly seem to point that way.
143. The Rock says he is fighting for the crowd, not the guys in back.
144. I wonder what WWE would be like today had The Rock never left in the first place?
145. The Rock is using a lot of the same words Sarah Palin used in her campaign.
146. Haha, The Rock brings up how he basically got Cena on the box for Fruity Pebbles.
147. The Rock calls Cena a bitch again.
148. I love that the crowd gets into The Rock's promos but sometimes all the chanting can take away from the actual segment, I just want to hear what Rocky has to say.
149. Rock mocks the fact that Cena changed his jean shorts to camo shorts.
150. Who is he to talk? He has used the same style of gear for almost his whole career.
151. STOP MAKING THINGS TREND!
152. Thank God, Cena's music interrupts a missing balls chant.
153. The crowd boos heavily but Cena looks all pumped up anyways.
154. Hahaha, Cena outright says The Rock is always talking about his penis.
155. Cena says Dwayne Johnson is a son of a bitch who doesn't care about WWE.
156. Does The Rock actually have notes for his promo on his wrist.
157. I gotta give it up to Cena, he went in there and stood toe to toe with the Rock and actually made me like his promo better.
158. Not many people will agree with me but Cena won that exchange.
159. The Rock keeps going about how he is both The Rock and Dwayne Johnson.
160. The Rock sounds a little desperate to win the war of words right now by getting a cheap pop with some catchphrases.
161. Nice catch to the crew member who caught The Rock's mic when he just pitched it from the ring.
162. The Rock stands in the ring looking to the sign for WrestleMania 28 as we go off the air.
163. Really good show tonight, solid action and some decent fed progression.
Thanks for reading and feel free to share your thoughts and additions to the list below. Also, please take a moment and make your prediction for the length of the next Divas match as well as your nickname for David Otunga.
