Robert Griffin May Post Pretty Numbers, but Andrew Luck Is Still Draft's Best QB
Robert Griffin III showed up and owned the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine by exceeding everyone's expectations. While the Baylor product posted great numbers, Stanford's Andrew Luck is and will remain the 2012 NFL Draft's best quarterback.
Griffin showed up to the combine and measured in at 6'2" and 223 pounds, dispelling fears that he might actually be smaller than advertised. Then he ran a sizzling 4.41 second 40-yard dash, broke out a 39-inch vertical leap and a 120-inch broad jump. Clearly the former world-class hurdler is incredibly athletic.
While that was one of the more impressive combine performances in recent memory, Luck showed up and wowed scouts as well. He measured in at 6'4" and 234 pounds, turned in a 4.67 second 40-yard dash, a 36-inch vertical leap, a 124-inch broad jump, ran the three-cone drill in an impressive 6.8 seconds and busted out a 4.28 second 20-yard shuttle.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Considering that Luck is seen as a prototypical pocket passer, those numbers were all extremely impressive. While Griffin may be more athletic, the Stanford product holds his own in the athleticism department.
Neither quarterback threw on Sunday, opting instead to show off their passing skills when they hold their pro days in a few weeks. That was a smart move, since they will each be able to throw to familiar receivers in a familiar setting on those days. I don't think anyone will hold that against them, since it is typically expected that top quarterbacks won't throw at the combine.
While Griffin was impressive this weekend in Indianapolis, Luck will be the top pick on April 26. Whether or not he will be going to the Indianapolis Colts is yet to be seen, but he will be the draft's top selection, no matter how well Griffin performs in the lead up to the big day.
