Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here's a look at three potential second-rounders who figure to help their teams out immediately.
3. Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma
The more I see Jamell Fleming, the more I like him.
He's got great size and strength for the position and quick burst, making him fit for press coverage and off-man coverage. He also closes on the ball quickly and is a tenacious tackler and defender. He impressed at the Senior Bowl and continues to rise up draft boards.
2. Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers
I'm not seeing Mohamed Sanu going in the first round, but that doesn't mean he's not a first-round prospect.
Sanu could become a solid possession receiver in the NFL, with the hands, fearlessness up the middle and impressive strength to translate well to the next level.
This kid's dedication is unquestioned and I only see him getting better with his work ethic and drive.
1. Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State
Jerel Worthy's size, strength and quick hands have made him an anchor in college, and if he can stay more focused, he should be a solid run-stopper in the NFL.
In addition to Worthy's strength and size, he has the explosion off the snap to surprise offensive linemen and a nice swim move to get past them.
The biggest thing for Worthy is staying motivated. If he doesn't get past linemen initially, he oftentimes won't fight to get through the blocks, which is a no-no in the NFL.
But he has the ability to be a difference-maker in the pros.
