All-Star Game Video: Watch Dwyane Wade Break Kobe Bryant's Nose on Hard Foul

Adam WellsFeb 27, 2012

No one can accuse Dwayne Wade of not trying to play defense in the NBA All-Star Game. Kobe Bryant can attest to that.

The game was not all sunshines and records for the Los Angeles Lakers guard. Despite setting an All-Star game record for points in a career, he suffered a broken nose when driving to the hoop. Wade tried swatting for the ball, but his forearm caught Bryant in the face.

Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register reported that Bryant's nose was broken. It also says that we won't know if he has to wear a protective mask, or will miss any time, until the Lakers resume practice on Tuesday.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports was told by league sources that Bryant suffered a mild concussion as well.

Besides a broken nose, Kobe Bryant sustained a mild concussion Sunday night in the All-Star game, league source tells Y! Sports.

In typical Kobe fashion, he did not leave the game after his nose was left crooked and bloody. It may not mean much to anyone else, but Bryant can't turn off that aggressive approach.

Wade, meanwhile, is going to be the object of every Lakers' fans rage. We all know that no one plays defense in this game, so why is Wade trying to swat at the ball? Those are the kinds of conspiracy theories that you will hear from Hollywood.

The best part of this whole thing will be when the Heat and Lakers next play each other, on March 4, Bryant surely isn't going to forget about what happened here. You just know that he is going to tell head coach Mike Brown that he wants to be matched up with Wade.

Bryant is going to go at him as hard and fast as he possibly can. He isn't going to intentionally hurt him, or anything like that. He is just going to do what he has done to everyone else in the league for the last 15 years.

Even if the Lakers don't win that game, Bryant is going to make a huge statement to Wade. And we will just be watching in awe as it happens. It's amazing how much drama is going to come from one little swipe of the face.
