WWE: 7 Wrestlers Who Could Improve the WWE
There are times when even the best television programming gets stale. Star Trek, reality television and, yes, professional wrestling have all found themselves having to reinvent the wheel that got them started in the first place.
And sometimes these shows and more have had to take a beating before their numbers rose to better levels. Yes, there is a learning curve in marketing your television program.
The WWE is no different.
With wrestling, it is a matter of finding the right fit fans can live with or expect more from. Right now, while storylines are decent for feuds and upcoming PPV events like WrestleMania, there needs to be a restructuring of brands, a flourish of talent and the understanding by creative teams that there cannot be the continual lean on veterans to get the job done when there are very capable youngsters and middle men waiting for their chance.
What wrestling can do (like other sports teams in need of scoring, defense and depth) is add players to the roster to give the promotion a push. This is certainly needed in the WWE right now.
These wrestlers (some who have already been on this stage) could be exactly what the company needs to give it a fresh, new look—and better ratings.
Abyss
1 of 7He is currently inactive on the TNA roster. The thought being Abyss could come to the WWE as a possible side note of the Kane/Undertaker saga.
Abyss has his own destructive style, much like Kane, which should win over fans and get that "evil" feel back in storylines longer than a short dance with John Cena.
His size and his presence would be a welcomed addition.
AJ Styles
2 of 7He is in mid-card status, which is really a sign of disrespect for the leader of this company.
Styles is Mr. TNA and should be in the title picture all the time. But with the need to push younger talent and the change in creative styles, maybe it is time for Styles to find a new home.
How he would be treated once he makes a switch is unknown. Would it be like Booker T coming to the WWE? Who knows?
I think Styles and someone like a Daniel Bryan would be an amazing match.
Gail Kim
3 of 7She may be the best entertainer in the female wrestling world.
Kim is a great performer and a true superstar of the business. She has proven she can be an effective heel or hero in both the WWE and TNA.
Right now as champion and heel, she is taking on the likes of Tara and Madison Rayne.
Kim could really help boost the Divas Division if she made another change and came back.
Magnus
4 of 7I think Magnus may be the most underrated wrestler in TNA with his size and skill. But his camera time and mic skills have improved.
Right now, he and Samoa Joe are the tag champions, which has really shown off his wrestling skill and his ability to sell with other wrestlers.
He has a great look. He has a great presence and could be a singles champion for Impact Wrestling.
The WWE should take advantage of getting him at some point, if they can.
Mr. Anderson
5 of 7He was here once, has been inactive and could use the WWE to springboard a resurrection in his career.
The problem is he may still have issues with current WWE wrestlers he had issues with before he was dismissed from the company.
How Anderson could be packaged is purely speculative. But he and CM Punk may be a good tandem or great enemies. They both are anti-heroes.
That should be a good place to start.
Rob Van Dam
6 of 7We are just waiting to see this happen.
Van Dam needs to be the catalyst of change.
While Chris Jericho is in a spot with CM Punk, someone like Van Dam caught in an angle with Punk or maybe a Daniel Bryan would add excitement to the brand.
He could also battle with the likes of Christian, which would gather ratings.
Trish Stratus
7 of 7Since it has been reported that she wants to return to the WWE at WrestleMania 28 to face Beth Phoenix, could another run in the WWE not be far off?
If Kharma is not fully ready by WrestleMania 28, then maybe Trish is a logical choice, but someone like Tamina may have something to do with it.
