NFL Combine 2012 Results: Robert Griffin III Cements Himself as Top-2 Selection
Nightmares are already haunting defensive coordinators.
Everyone expected Robert Griffin III to blow up at the NFL Combine because after all, he’s a physical freak. But somehow, someway he managed to surpass all expectations, solidifying himself as a top-two selection in the 2012 draft.
According to NFL.com, RGIII officially ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash. The time marked the third fastest in combine history only behind Michael Vick and Reggie McNeal. Now, there isn’t the slightest chance in the world that Griffin falls further than No. 2 on draft day.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The three most common reasons why a football team sucks are because they don’t have a quarterback, they don’t have an offensive line and they don’t have a pass rush. Not only does Griffin fill a franchise’s need under center, but his elite athleticism negates the need for a brick wall for an o-line. Sure, even Vick needs protection; ask the Philadelphia Eagles training staff, but having wheels to evade opposing pass rushers lessens the need just a bit.
After the Indianapolis Colts select Andrew Luck first overall, three teams will be left that are desperate enough for a franchise QB that they’ll trade up. The Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins will be on the phone with the St. Louis Rams in a bidding war for the second selection which will ultimately end up being RGIII.
Because of the Grand Canyon-like drop off in talent after Griffin at the quarterback position, the squads that don’t end up with Peyton Manning will go all-in for the former Baylor Bear.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Rams are indeed interested in trading down tweeting:
"Rams already have had preliminary discussions about trading the No. 2 overall pick. bit.ly/xra2EG

Cleveland naturally possesses the best shot at swapping with the Rams because not only do they have the highest draft spot, but they own the Atlanta Falcons' first-round pick as well. Whoever ends up with Griffin will not only receive a franchise signal caller, but their ticket sales will sky-rocket through the roof.
